Question: | Is there any way to purchase a replacement straw |
Answer: | The base of the Nuby No-Spill Flex Straw is microwave safe. We do not recommend microwaving the cup with the lid and straw attached. -Nuby USA |
Question: | Can a toddler pull the straw out and pour out liquid |
Answer: | In response to your query concerning our no-spill product line of straw cups, please understand that a child’s natural sucking reflex will allow these products to function properly. By explanation, all that is needed to allow the no-spill straws to release liquid is for the child to insert the mouth-piece into their mouth, and by the natural action of their tongue pressing upwards to the roof of their mouth, the no-spill device will be opened and permit the liquid to be released. -Nuby USA |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the child have to bite on the straw to open the valve |
Answer: | Yes. Mine has cap indicator light. |
Question: | My son can’t figure out the straw. Was anyone with this issue able to get their kids to use these? How old were you kids |
Answer: | Yes, I am using it with Windows 10 and have not had any problems with it. |
Question: | Does the child have to bite on the straw to open the valve, like some of the other OXO straw cups |
Answer: | I know this is an old question but Amazon ships globally. Maybe the people with issues live in a country with different disposable battery standards? In Canada, the US, Mexico, and most of Europe these take standard sized batteries -- 2 AAAs for the keyboard and one AA for the mouse. I can't speak to the Warsaw Pact countries, Cuba, Africa or South American battery standards, I know the Warsaw Pact countries pretty much made up their own alternative standards for everything so I wouldn't attempt to use one of these there without further research there without buying a large box of AAA and AA batteries from here to use with it. I have the keyboard without the mouse, it definitely takes two AAA batteries of which are so standard that I probably have 50 or so new, in the package AAAs in my battery box at any one time. |
Question: | Does the straw part that hits mouth made of silicone or plastic |
Answer: | The picture on the outside of the box I received reflected a US keyboard, but inside the box, I found a European keyboard. I ordered 6 and needed to return them all. They were not compatible with my users fingers. The US keyboard has a wide "SHIFT" keys on both ends of the keyboard. The keyboards I received have narrow left-shift keys and various other punctuation keys in the wrong locations. The one clue is that there is no English on the outside of the box even though the photograph is of a US keyboard. |

User questions & answers
Question: | is it all plastic or silicon |
Answer: | Yes, your baby will need to be able to push her lips or teeth down on it, but it does not take much pressure around the straw. Baby also will need to suck as well. Our little guy liked these better than any other cups or straws. You might have to try different ones out till you find one your baby likes. |
Question: | Does this fit the 6oz cup if I cut it |
Answer: | I see other people saying no, but there is a stopping mechanism in the straw that prevents backflow. They may be able to suck hard enough to get liquid past the mechanism without biting, but I do believe biting the straw with their teeth/gums helps facilitate the flow. |
Question: | Is the top part of the straw the same size in the 9oz and 6oz cups |
Answer: | I gave it to my daughter at about 8-9 months, as she was BF and never took to a bottle. You have to bite down ever so slightly on the straw to get the valve to open and the liquid to flow. Hope that helps! |
Question: | Does this also fit other straw cups ( avent |
Answer: | No but they have to suck a little bit harder than with some cups (which can be frustrating to lazy kids) |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used directly in a bottle warmer |
Answer: | I’ve been putting mine in the dishwasher for a year now and have not had a problem. I do however wash the straws with a straw brush. |
Question: | Is the lid removable |
Answer: | Flow is not fast as they have to suck it like nipples not like normal straws as their flow is too much for babies. Try it your baby will like it. |
Question: | Does the kid need to bite down to drink? I mean, does one need to bite the spout to get liquid out |
Answer: | You could technically use a different straw, but the functionality of no drip/spill will be lost. |
Question: | what is this made of |
Answer: | They should, but I haven’t tried the two together. The 6 and 9 ounce cups are the same circumference. |
