The back of the mounting plate isn’t completely flat, as the top part of it sticks out farther in order to hook it into the slat wall groove, and the lower part of the mounting plate rests flat against the wall. There is a hole at the top of the mounting plate that allows for screwing into the slat wall groove. I don’t think it’d work very well if you just screwed the plate directly into the wall, but I admit that I’ve never tried that. |
