Answer:	I’m almost certain it is real leather. As a matter of fact, it comes with a piece of leather attached by string to show the back of the leather as authentic. The leather has small perforations for ventilation.

Answer:	I was able to use them in my Pathfinder, but not my truck. Depends on vehicle, just like the pole spacing is different for my front and back seat rest, some are just slightly different . At least they added spacers when evet needed.
