The Advocate car seat measures 23L x 20.5W x 23.5H inches. If you can measure your rear seat's depth and width as well as the space between the front seat and rear that should give you a base line for whether it will fit or not.

Since he's already 1, I'd get the Britax Advocate without the rebound bar as the rebound bar is more suitable for infants and it's a little cheaper without the rebound bar. He can sit in the car seat rear facing until he is 40 lbs or his shoulder height is 18.65" and then you can switch to forward facing until he is 65 lbs or 49". My nephew outgrew it when he was 6, but he's on the small size, you should have no problem keeping it until he's 4 or 5.

If the car seat is installed rear-facing, you cannot attach the cupholder until the car seat is installed in the vehicle.
