Answer:	My grandson is mixed but his hair texture is more white than African, so I'm not sure if it would work the same. It is the only thing we have used that tames his hair and we love it. His hair tangles/knots up very easily, especially after he has slept on it.

Answer:	Not really. I've been using it on my 23 month old baby girl, but didn't see any major lightening. Their spray detangler did lightened a bit more since I started using it a couple of weeks ago.

Answer:	Not particularly as viscous as a gel. A lot more similar to water albeit easier to keep it coated where you want it. I'd definitely recommend it over other lubes especially other water based ones if that is what you are looking for.
