Answer:	I found if once you put the soap on it and rub it in a little so it gets between the silicone grooves, it up will lather just as a wash cloth or a sponge would.

Answer:	Just rinse it in the shower or use mild soap and water. Hang to dry. It’s silicone so it dries very quickly. HOWEVER, I would say that it doesn’t lather very well with baby wash so you might end up going back to wash cloths anyway.

Answer:	I don't know what you mean "as thick as typical baby washcloths," but I like soft, thin washcloths and these fit the bill perfectly. I find myself only using these out of all washcloths in the linen closet. They are woven tighter that the really cheap washcloths and have held up great. I recommend them. It was a great buy for me.

So if you are comfortable using a wash cloth in the place of paper towel then feel free to buy.. I use reusable bamboo paper towels that are very absorbent and washable. They would be a better option
