12 best dial tire gauges

Dial tire gauges are precision instruments used in the automotive industry to measure the air pressure in vehicle tires accurately. They fall under the category of tire gauges, tire wheel tools, tools and equipment, and are specifically designed for automotive applications. Here's what you need to know about Dial tire gauges:

  1. Purpose: The primary purpose of Dial tire gauges is to measure the air pressure inside vehicle tires. Maintaining the correct tire pressure is crucial for safe and efficient driving, as it affects handling, fuel efficiency, and tire longevity.

  2. Design: Dial tire gauges typically consist of a round dial or gauge face with a needle or pointer that indicates the tire pressure in pounds per square inch (PSI). They may have a protective rubber or plastic casing and a nozzle or chuck for attaching to the tire valve stem.

  3. Accuracy: Dial tire gauges are known for their accuracy and precision. They provide a clear and easy-to-read measurement of tire pressure, making them a reliable tool for monitoring and adjusting tire pressures.

  4. Types: There are different types of Dial tire gauges available, including analog and digital models. Analog models have a traditional dial face with a needle, while digital models display the pressure reading digitally on an LCD screen.

  5. Maintenance: To ensure accuracy, Dial tire gauges may require occasional calibration or adjustment. Some models come with instructions on how to do this, while others may need professional calibration.

  6. Versatility: Dial tire gauges can be used on various types of tires, including those on cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, and even industrial equipment. They are versatile tools suitable for both personal and professional use.

  7. Pressure Range: Different models may have varying pressure ranges, so it's essential to choose a gauge that covers the PSI range required for your specific vehicle's tires.

  8. Durability: High-quality Dial tire gauges are built to withstand the rigors of automotive use. They are often made with durable materials to ensure longevity and reliability.

  9. Ease of Use: These gauges are designed to be user-friendly, with a simple process of connecting the chuck to the tire valve stem and reading the pressure measurement on the dial or digital display.

  10. Maintenance Tips: It's important to store Dial tire gauges properly to protect them from damage, such as impacts or exposure to extreme temperatures. Regularly checking and adjusting tire pressure according to manufacturer recommendations is crucial for safe driving and tire longevity.

In summary, Dial tire gauges are precision tools used to measure tire pressure accurately in various automotive applications. They come in different types, offer high accuracy, and are built to be durable and reliable. Properly maintaining tire pressure using a Dial tire gauge is essential for safe and efficient driving.

Do you want to cut down on fuel costs?

Do you want to improve your car performance?

Do you hate going to the gas station just to check your tire pressure

or worse, realise the pump is broken?

Now, you can have your cake and eat it too, as it's actually possible to improve your car's

handling and reduce gas expenses with one simple check that takes less than

three seconds - anywhere, anytime - without running to the gas station!

It's the VONDIOR tire pressure gauge.

It accurately measures your tire pressure with little effort.

Just attach it to the tire's air valve and the exact measurement will show instantaneously.

Unfortunately most people are not aware of the importance of proper air pressure.

Poorly inflated tires increase fuel costs and emissions, which may not sound like much,

but it means that the average person who drives 12,000 miles yearly on under-inflated tires

uses about 144 extra gallons of gas, at a cost of $300-$500 a year and adds 2,880 pounds

of greenhouse gases to the environment annually.

Poorly inflated tires wear faster and unevenly, and negatively impact the vehicle's braking and handling.

Improving your car's performance is essential for your driving experience.

The VONDIOR analog tire gauge does not require batteries, so it's ready for use anytime.

In addition, its readings can be made quickly, be visible at night and accurately without having to

stand at the gauge waiting for the reading to stabilize, as with digital gauges.

User questions & answers

Question: I have a defective one, loss of pressure. Why is there no response from seller on warranty
Answer: Buy Intercomp (360067 2.5" 0-60 PSI Liquid Filled Deluxe Air Pressure Gauge if you want a real USA product
Question: Does this gauge have a geared movement with bronze Bourdon tube, or is it a piston-plunger type gauge
Answer: My gauge came with one battery installed and one plastic wrapped spare. The battery that was installed lasted about a year(+/-). The spare is in the gauge now and is approximately a year old. The battery life indicator shows full strength still. This is the best gauge I’ve ever owned. I bought it because it measures tire pressure in 1/10th increments. Meaning you can fill your tire to, say, 34.3 psi, you can. This is helpful for the drivers of cars with TPMS sensors that register PSI in whole numbers. Hope that helps. Bottom line - buy it. It’s well made, accurate and measures with good precision.
Question: Your gauge looks identical to the jaco gauge, even down to the packaging. Their's is made in china, and they say so openly. Where is yours made
Answer: It automatically adjusts. The bleed valve dumps air pretty fast, so keep an eye on that so you don't have to refill air...lol.
Question: Made in the USA

User questions & answers

Question: Where was this made
Answer: Had no warranty as far as I could see. Mine broke the second time I used it. Garbage.
Question: how accurate is the reading? seems to be off by 2 psi for car tire is it the same for yours? either this is off or my porter-cable inflator is off
Answer: Nope, just stops there. And it broke after a 3 foot fall onto garage floor. Even landed on the rubber surround. Needle went to about 13 psi, so new range was a full 17psi.
Question: This is 2014, does this gauge have the brass dial ring, and stem?(like the older models) 2" diameter, easy to read
Answer: I would sure think so, but if you're concerned deflate and refill the tire.
Question: What is the warranty
Answer: No, the gauge holds the reading. Pressing the button resets to zero. You can also use the button to bleed pressure from the tire as you take the pressure reading.

User questions & answers

Question: This gauge looks amazing, is it constructed from brass
Answer: Yes, the housing of the gauge is constructed from brass (stem and chuck), the bezel and body are constructed from steel - as you can see, it's built to last!
Question: Can I use it to deflate excess pressure
Answer: Yes, the button just below the dial is used to deflate and to reset the dial between readings. Just press and hold until the pressure reaches your desired psi. You press and release button to reset dial to zero.
Question: Where it made
Answer: Says Made in China on box like so much in America today but quality appears good!
Question: Does this gauge hold the pressure reading on the dial after removing from the tire valve
Answer: Yes, and with a vengeance . I've measured 60# on the temp spare, by chance not reset it, and when I next used the gauge several DAYS later it was still exactly the same. I'm happy to report this, as losing the reading was an issue with my Deluxe model that JACO immediately replaced. Both now hold readings, but I've not 'tested' how long for the Deluxe. Certainly, my Elite Pro holds its reading as well as anyone could expect -- thanks, JACO!

User questions & answers

Question: Can you use This gauge on bike tires (Trek bike
Answer: Depends on type of valve. You may need an adaptor. I haven’t used my gauge yet. If you need an adaptor...get from your local bike shop
Question: I have the same question - does it have a release valve if you overinflate? Can't someone from the company provide a definitive answer
Answer: This pressure guage does have a release valve. It's on the metal piece connected to the hose. In my opinion, it's pretty flimsy but it works
Question: Does it have a pressure release feature to deflate over inflated tire
Answer: Read the description....
Question: Is it made in China? If so I will avoid it
Answer: Made in china. The tool worked for several months and then the air line blew out near where it connects to the gauge (it was under about 16 psi when it failed). The device was only used a few times and kept in a box in the shop when not in use . My experience with this gauge is consistent with other products we bought for the farm based on price, that were manufactured in China.

User questions & answers

Question: What warranty comes with this product
Answer: I ordered this last year, and at the time it did keep the tire pressure until it was reset by clicking the side button. Now, it no longer retains the pressure. I asked a mechanic about it and he said the button was to release pressure on over inflated tires, but I was pretty sure that wasn't the only function for the button. Now, in reviewing the product's features I see that it should be retaining the pressure. Sadly, mine no longer does that. Otherwise, I like the gauge quite a lot.
Question: Worked great for a while until started losing the reading at about 1psi per second. Anybody else had the problem and know a remedy
Answer: The dial is 1.5"

Product description

The Accu-Gage Professional Tire Pressure Gauge has a fully geared, precision movement with bronze Bourdon tube. Protective rubber guard installed. Lifetime Warranty (USA and Canada).

  • 60 PSI with flexible hose, bleeder and protective rubber guard installed
  • Fully geared, precision movement with bronze Bourdon tube
  • Accuracy conforms to ANSI B40.1 Grade B and California regulation
  • Needle holds pressure reading until released; push-button valve bleeds air to desire pressure
  • Lifetime Warranty (USA and Canada)

User questions & answers

Question: Does this push on or screw on to the schrader valve on the tire
Answer: You push it onto the Schrader valve like common tire pressure gauges. The button releases the gauge needle after you take the reading.
Question: If you accidentally use it on to high of pressure can you get it back to zero
Answer: Yes. There is a button which, when depressed, drops the pressure back to zero.
Question: How do I know what angle to buy or is swivel the best
Answer: The Accu-Gage is freely swivel to any angle. The important thing is to select the suitable gauge range. For example; if the tire normal pressure is 35 psi, you need to buy a gauge with 0-60 psi range.
Question: Does it read low pressures accurately? I am considering this for a dirt motorbike
Answer: This gauge is accurate for pressures above 5 psi - but you won't have very good precision for fine-tuning lower pressures due to the fact it's difficult to resolve small pressure differences on a 5-60 psi scale. If you're using this for pressures between 0-30 psi, Accu-Gage makes a gauge for that. If you're working with pressures between 0-15 psi, they make one for that range as well. The key thing is don't use the lower-range guage until the pressure is in that range. In other words, if your tire pressure is starting out at 40 psi, but you're lowering it for use on a specific type of terrain - use a 0-60 psi gauge to get the pressure down into the lower range, then use the lower-range gauge to fine tune the pressure with more precision. If you try to measure 40 psi on a mechanical gauge that goes from 0-30 psi, you can damage the gauge.

Question: Can this be used as tire deflator if you hook it up and pull trigger without the air compressor attached? For airing down tires to drive off road
Answer: Just push the button on the side if you overfill to let some air out. Hose can still be attached and pressurized.
Question: The guage won't go back to 0. It stays at 20 psi. Is there a way to zero it? When using it, the tire psi will be at 30 but the guage says
Answer: Mines doing the same. 12-20psi when not connected. It's used on a 125psi compressor and where I live it never freezes.
Question: What are the threads on the gauge, should one wish to replace it later
Answer: I think its M8 (fine pitch). I wanted to replace the gauge on mine so I pulled it off and realized it's not 1/8 npt. It's not tapered and major diameter is about .315, so I'm looking to get an inflator with a 1/4 not gauge port (for better accuracy at 32 psi).

Product description

Protected by a rubber shield, it's durable and made to last under all weather condition.

  • HIGH PERFORMANCE LOW MAINTENANCE - She is your pride and joy. Your car is one of your partners in life. Making sure it performs at its best takes tender loving care, which means essentially checking tire pressure regularly. But going to the garage or gas station is a hassle. Highly calibrated accurate to ±1% full scale of 100 PSI range VONDIOR tire pressure gauge will make sure your tires are good to go! Includes a swiveling valve connector, rotating on its' axis for maximum convenience.
  • SAFETY FIRST - Driving your family, friends or simply carpooling is a big responsibility. Protecting your passengers means keeping your car in top condition. Properly inflated tires are safer and less likely to fail at high speeds. Over-inflated tires make for longer stopping distances and will skid longer on wet surfaces. Don’t trust on gas station pump accuracy, most of the time they are showing extreme wrong pressure. Keep tire on optimal pressure. It’s literally a life saver.
  • SAVE YOUR GAS MONEY AND THE ENVIRONMENT – A beneficial situation for all mankind. When tires are not properly inflated, they are less “round” and require more energy to begin moving and to maintain speed. In addition, under-inflated tires contribute to pollution and increased fuel costs. So get a VONDIOR gauge in order to save money and Mother Nature.
  • EASY AS I,2,3 - Mechanics advise checking your vehicle’s tire pressure weekly. But it’s quite inconvenient to run to the garage or gas station regularly just for that. The VONDIOR gauge's large dial with swivel valve hookup makes it easy to measure air pressure at any tire angle. Simply attach it to your tire's air valve - no need to hold it steady, no need to look at the gauge - and the pressure will show instantaneously.
  • ANALOG ACCURACY IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND- Technologically advanced devices have their advantages, but when it comes to a device that can save your life, it must function in real time. This analog tire pressure gauge doesn't require any batteries and provides quick and precise readings. Having a protective rubber shield, it is built to last. It’s an accessory that your car cannot live without.

User questions & answers

Question: Is there a warranty
Answer: Yes, right, the increacement is 1/32', the total measure range is from 0 to 13/32 inch.
Question: Thread size for fittings
Answer: You manually press the shaft back up until flush to reset back to zero. Just like a cheap simple depth gauge.
Question: What is the accuracy of this gauge
Answer: You are inquiring about Milton Industries product. It may be helpful to ask users of those products. However, as far as I can ascertain the "S" stands for single (as in one gauge per purchase), while the non-S 448 is a box of 10. Good luck.
