To determine the type of rear sprocket system you have, find the tool fitting on the sprocket set. Spin the sprockets backwards. If the fitting spins with the cogs, it is a cassette system. If the tool fitting does not spin with the cogs, it is a freewheel system.

COUNT THE SPLINES

To determine the type of freewheel tool needed, count the number of splines in the tool fitting. If there are 12 splines, and the brand of freewheel is not Falcon, the correct tool is the FR-1.3.

Answer:	I have used it to remove the Origin 8 Hornet 18t freewheel which has 8 notches. It just fits 4 of the 8. But if you have a smaller freewheel with 8 notches like a 15t ACS Crossfire, it will not work because it is too large to fit. There is ANOTHER tool for those smaller ones.
Question:	when they refer to 20mm inside, are they referring to this is the inside of the tool? or does the 20mm refer to inside of lock ring it would fit
Answer:	Same here. I got this model because it had a hole in the cap to route my rear motor phase wires through. The hole is a little tight, but fits fine if you remove the temp/phase sensor wires connector and re-attach it after you're all done and feed your phase wire connectors through one at a time.
