11 best inverter 1500ws
A 1500W inverter is a piece of electrical equipment commonly used in the automotive industry and other applications where portable power is needed. Here's what you should know about a 1500W inverter:
Purpose: A 1500W inverter is designed to convert direct current (DC) power, typically from a 12V or 24V battery, into alternating current (AC) power at a voltage of 120V or 220V, depending on the region. This conversion allows you to power household appliances and electronic devices that require standard AC power when you are on the go, such as in a car, RV, boat, or during outdoor activities.
Power Rating: The "1500W" designation indicates the inverter's maximum power output capacity. It can deliver up to 1500 watts of continuous power, and often has a surge rating that allows for temporary overloads beyond this capacity for a short period, typically a few seconds.
Types: Inverters come in two main types: modified sine wave and pure sine wave. A 1500W inverter can be available in both variants. Pure sine wave inverters produce a cleaner and more stable AC waveform, suitable for sensitive electronic devices like laptops and medical equipment, while modified sine wave inverters are less expensive but may not be suitable for all devices.
Applications: A 1500W inverter can power a wide range of devices, including laptops, smartphones, kitchen appliances like microwaves and blenders, power tools, TVs, and more. It's often used by travelers, campers, truck drivers, and outdoor enthusiasts who need to run AC-powered devices away from traditional electrical outlets.
Safety Features: Many inverters come equipped with safety features such as overload protection, over-temperature shutdown, and low-voltage alarms to protect both the inverter and the connected devices.
Installation: Installing a 1500W inverter typically involves connecting it to a DC power source, such as a car battery, via cables with clamps or ring terminals. It may also include outlets or USB ports for plugging in various devices.
Size and Portability: These inverters vary in size and design, with some models being compact and easily portable, while others may be larger and suitable for more permanent installations.
Brand Variations: Various manufacturers produce 1500W inverters, so product features and build quality can vary. It's essential to research and choose a reputable brand known for reliability.
In summary, a 1500W inverter is a versatile piece of equipment that converts DC power from a battery into usable AC power, making it a valuable tool for powering various devices while on the move or in locations without traditional electrical outlets. The choice between modified sine wave and pure sine wave depends on the specific devices you plan to power.

User questions & answers
Question: | How do I extend the remote cable |
Answer: | It’s the same as an RJ11 telephone cord. Just make sure the cord has four wires in it some only have two. |
Question: | How do I hook up my solar panel to the inverter |
Answer: | I’m with the person that said get professional help. Here’s why, I have a second home in Baja powered exclusively on solar. I have a 10,000 w inverter but I like a smaller like this for smaller items and less noise. I had some work done in the roof where they had to reposition all my solar equipment. My roofers didn’t connect it right even though they claimed they work a lot with solar, since that’s all there is where I’m at. To make a long story short, the mistake caused the controller to brake down, having to buy another one, nearly took down my bran new batteries that I’ve spent $1,200 on, I still had to pay the service of a professional, water pump wouldn’t work since nothing was working thus no shower, no toilet. Ended up costing me more than the original cost had I hired a professional to do it. Learned lesson the hard way. |
Question: | instructions say ps1005 takes 40Ax6 car fuses..where do I put these fuses? Also, what's best disconnect fuse to install between inverter & battery |
Answer: | This is going to be long winded but hang with me I will get to your fuse issue and a lot more that I have learned that will save you time and money. You will have two wires coming from your battery or battery bank. a positive and a negative. When running power from your battery bank the biggest enemy is power lose. The industry recommended voltage drop between the inverter and battery(ies) is no more than 0.075 volts, the the less the voltage drop the better. No use in losing all that hard earned solar energy to wiring transfer loss. To obtain this low of a voltage drop you will have to use some fairly large wire / cables, these are available at your local auto parts store, they will have everything from eight gauge or smaller to zero maybe even double zero gauge (in wiring as the number gets smaller the wire gets bigger, kind of backwards) you want battery cable, I made the mistake of going to Lowe's and buying wire but the cover was not right for the job. I'll give a voltage drop guide for inverter size, wire size and length a bit later. In my situation I had to go almost three and a half feet to hook my batteries to my inverter. I'm using two 12V group 27 deep cycle wet batteries in parallel that have to be outside, thus the longer run. I'm attaching a link to an article with four different DIY methods for installing an inverter, mainly because it contains a the table for inverter and wire size voltage drop per foot of wire. This will allow you to calculate voltage drop for your 1500/3000, (use the 1500 numbers) by dividing the voltage drop per foot into 0.075 to find the number of feet you can use for each gauge of wire and stay under 0.075. the link is http://www.doityourselfrv.com/rv-inverter-install-diy/. Once you have the right size wire to run from your batteries to your inverters the fuse holder and fuses I'm recommending will make sense. I went with a E2 by Scoshe EWFH Single ANL Fuse Holder available on Amazon for $6.95 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KIR8M0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which is quite reasonable priced, I researched them and users have been happy with them. It doesn't use car fuses it uses a very high quality fuse that comes in values from 100, 200, 250, 300. I went with the Scosche 250 amp ANL Fuse - 1 Pack that is $6.61 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0023NVZ8I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) , but I also bought the 200 amp and the 300 amp along with spares of each and a spare fuse holder. Now it's helpful hint time, the wire ends to attach these wires to the battery and the inverter are different. The battery requires a wire end for the gauge wire you use with a 3/8" circular opening (stud) on the end, I used "Pico 4439C 1/0 AWG Battery Cable 3/8" Tubular Lug Ring / Eye Terminals 15 Per Package" (you may not need 15 so look around for the gauge and stug size in the quantity that fits your needs), my advice is to get the wire ends a size larger or gauge smaller, this will make since in a bit, also I bought some four gauge wire ends that just weren't big enough for four gauge wire. The inverter also needs a wire end that fits your cable / wire size (which will be the same) but it has to have a 1/2" circular opening (stud), I used these "Install Bay Copper Ring Terminal 2/0 Gauge 1/2 Inch 5 Pack - CUR2012". Last point I promise, if you don't own an industrial crimper, these Ring Terminals are big and need a hammer crimper, I did it different and many other also do this. First buy some shrink protective covering and put on the wire, when you finish putting the end on you can slide it down to the very end and heat it with a heat gun or a torch and it will shrink and form fit over you wire end and wire so there is no exposed metal, except for the very end with the circle. To get the end of the wire on the wire place the wire end in some vice grips or a vice and cut small pieces of solder until it is full and heat it with a heat gun or a torch (I use the one they sell at the hardware store that has a blue butane bottle and a screw on torch end, works great). With the wire end filled with as much cut solder as it will hold heat the wire end with the torch (only the wire end no wire / cable yet, once all the solder has melted look and see if the cup of the wire end is full, the first pass might only melt and fill the end, fear not. After looking and if there is enough solder heat it a bit more for while looking it started cooling already. If not enough solder let it cool and do the same thing cut solder and fill with as much as it will hold and heat again until all the solder in the wire end melts and you can see the molten solder level up fairly high to the edge of the cup, then just stick the wire end that has been trimmed to the right length and twisted nice and tight in and hold in place for a minute or so. It isn't coming out unless reheated, with this method no crimping is needed and you can't pull the ends off, period. So make sure you have the end oriented the direction you want it, the heavier gauge wire doesn't bend and twist easily. So layout your wire and get a feel for what direction you want the end facing to go on the inverter or battery. Note this solder method won't work if the selected wire end has an inspection port of is open at one end, but those might be easier to crimp, but if possible I would go with solder method. By the by I used a silver tin solder mixture that came on a 30 foot roll for around $16.00, but I had a lot of ends to solder. Once the wire end has cool a bit slide down your shrink wrap and heat so that it conforms all around the end leaving only the ring for attachment. It will be a good looking rock solid cable. I know you asked about fuses and the holder and the fuses I recommended are perfect for the job, you only need the fuse holder on the positive wire / cable if you go to the page on Amazon there are around 40 Q&A's and several reviews for the holder and fuses. Sorry if I got a bit carried away with information but I just did this project and learned a bit. If the auto store only has one color of wire, like mine did in black, I bought some red electrical tape and put strips all up and down the positive cable. Good Luck. |
Question: | Does the remote switch shut off the inverter so it disconnects it from the batteries |
Answer: | The remote control is extremely convenient and it will shut the unit completely down there will be no draw whatsoever from your bank using the remote control,,, and again the remote is so convenient mounted up high so you never have to bend over to turn it on and off and this allows you to mount the inverter down toward your battery bank for less losses,,i used flexible welding cable for mine and installed lugs with Harbor Freight Tools hydraulic crimper,,, been using this unit for about two years now I don’t use it every single day however I run my refrigerator on it two or three times a week weather permitting. I have 4/6 V golf cart batteries wired up for 12 V and I’m using 500 W of Renorgy solar panels 12 V panel’s going into a Renorgy mppt c/c (one of the old 4210 c/c Extremely reliable) One thing you really need to consider when buying this is that you won’t have a lot of surge capability for start up if you’re trying to run a microwave with this it’s probably not going to happen unless it’s an extremely small microwave I vacuum my floors with this couple times a week I can run my refrigerator and a few other things (not at the same time)however if you’re trying to run a lot of big ticket items or a microwave You may want to consider going three or 4000 W continuous |
