Answer: | Bridging multiple buck converters is not a good idea. Forgive my last response, I thought you were bridging solar panels.. I've read that buck converters cannot be precisely trimmed enough to allow parallel connections. There way they function, one would be drawing way too much power... This unit, the description states, can handle 200 watts if you add a cooling fan. Might I suggest you look for a 200-250 watt buck converter, and add a 12v DC cooling fan from an old PC to THAT buck converter, presuming it could then handle the power you require? |

Answer: | Trigger turns the timer on. For example I'm using two of these timers on camera system for my truck. I use the left and right turn signal power to trigger seperate timers. I set the timer to 5 sec and the turn signal pulses every maybe 1 to 2 seconds. This timer allows me to keep constant power on the camera instead of a pulse which would have the camera blinking on and off. I think I have the timer set to P4 to make this work. The pulse turns it on and closes the NO contacts putting 12 volts to my camera. When the pulse goes of in 2 sec the timer starts counting down, but when a pulse hits it again in 2 sec it resets to 5 sec again and therefore the 12 volts stays on the camera constant until I turn off the turn signal and the timer counts down from 5 sec to 0 sec at which point it opens the NO contacts and removes the power from the camera. |

Answer: | Is the problem that you don't understand the schematic? The positive power source lead should go to the load (motor, etc). The shunt bar goes inline (it is part of the load circuit) on the negative lead back to the power source. After that, just hook up the display to the shunt bar - and one lead back to the power source positive - and you should be good. When you say you don't find any connections, it brings up different questions. Do you have both pieces shown in the listing pictures? Are you looking for answers on a digital voltmeter/ammeter? The only connections on these pieces are screw terminals. There should be a wire connection under every exposed screw. One more item - if the problem is the schematic, the one shown on the amazon listing in the pictures is cleaner than the one on the back of the display. Take a minute to look at it. It's possible that leaving it plugged in all the time (to an always-powered outlet) could run down the battery if the car isn't started up for several days. |

Answer: | Mine's permanently installed but is connected to a switched power line on my bike, so it's only on when the bike is. You could leave it unswiched, but it would slowly drain the battery. If you're riding regularly or trickle charging, then I doubt it'd be much of an issue given the low current it draws. |

Answer: | THE A/D converter inside should accurate into the microvolt region....unless the internal reference is off.Maybe the .3v is the VR drop across the relay or connector.Putting a voltmeter in paralell with DROK will give u a voltage reference for troubleshooting the issue |

Answer: | The leads are about 6-8" long. I had to add much longer wires to go to the battery on my motorcycle. I have the meter in the fairing which is a long ways from the battery. I wanted to measure the battery voltage, not off of the ignition switch which has a drop in voltage. |

Answer: | Oye. That seems like more work to fix than it is worth. I recommend you contact DROK (www.droking.com/). I had asked them for an installation template, and their customer service was great and they truly seemed interested in providing a good product. They sent me the template and a nice note. Consequently, I think they would want to know what happened and to understand why the faceplate failed. I also think they would replace it for you. Potentially, that may be optimistic, as I only had one dealing with them, but they were very courteous. Going back to your original question. I think it would be hard to make a good repair to the face plate. So I would either contact DROK and get a warranty or buy a different unit.Good luck. RegardsMarc |
