But, use an old fashion yard stick and measure the actual depth of the tank at the sender mount point. You might find that there actually is room for a longer unit. However, be sure to leave at least 1/2" between the sender and the tank wall to allow for vibration and sediment.

Answer:	36mm hole saw is perfect. The float is 1.370" (34.8mm) in diameter. The gasket is 1.44" (36.48mm) ID so figure the clearances you would like. To quickly align the gasket holes with the sender align the little bump/tab on the gasket beneath the cord on the sender. This makes it easy to align the offset holes regardless of the sender head orientation you choose for your install.

Answer:	You can set it up on 115vac however you need to do one of the following. 1. Acquire a small transformer that will convert 115vac to 12-24vdc. The transformer must convert from alternating to direct current as to my understanding this unit is dc. 2. Use a 12vdc battery to provide power to the unit, hook a small trickle charger to the battery to plug into outlet to keep battery charged. **There is a gage unit that is installed in the tank (sending unit) that is required also to make this gauge read.

Answer:	Yes you can. The sensor can work in both modes. That is, Water level is normally low (as in a sump pump situation), or normally high ( as in an aquarium situation). You will need to position the float switch at the level you want to get notified. When water level goes below that, you will get the alert(s). Answer:	Yes you can. The unit comes with a 25ft cable. But if you need more, you can get an extension cord either from the manufacturer site or a standard 3.5mm male to female stereo extension cord will work.

Answer:	Yes. The device is in constant connection to the Proteus web service that you setup an account with when you power on the device. If the power goes out, the device becomes unplugged, your wifi goes down, the sensor becomes unplugged, etc. you will get an email or text message on as many devices or accounts as you want that will state which sensor is down (you can have multiples with different names) and at what time it last contacted the web service (Proteus ####### is down since Today, 2:35 AM EST. Please check power and wifi). Once power is restored it will give you an update telling you what time it started talking to the web service again.

The panel usually also has a water pump ;on-off control switch and battery condition ,sensor .

Question:	Some devices with 9v batteries run at 5 volts and the input is 5 volts. Is the input 5 volts or 9 volts
Answer:	I would think that a 9 Volt lithium would be safer than an alkaline. These water detectors are supposed to signal low battery life. But you have to hear it and in fact it has to signal. The extra money for the lithium is worth it. There is no reason not to use lithium.

Question:	How much current can the sensors take to turn on something external to the alarm? What voltage is the alarm's input so an external thing won't hute it
Answer:	I have owned my only 1 week. It’s a 9 volt battery and my guess depends on the quality of battery and how often it is triggered or alarm sounding. I would guess that you should test it regularly and replace it when the low battery alarm sounds or 1 year, whichever is shortest.
Question:	Does the float hang by the wire into the water tank or does it have to be secured to something
Answer:	There are 2 small metal nodes that you can see on the outside in the picture. When moisture connects the 2 nodes the alarm sounds. I test these devices with a moistened finger, not much water at all. Very high humidity can trigger them as well, that is, humidity above atmospheric norm.

Answer:	Absolutely. I installed our float switch in our 3000 gallon water storage tank. As soon as the water reaches the desired level it will turn off the magnetic contactor that controls the submersible pump. You will have to make adjustments to the weight to achieve the desired level of water in the tank.

Answer:	I use ours on our home water storage tanks. There's really nothing that could contaminate anything. It's just a hard plastic case and an extension cord. No different than most aquarium devices. If your using it for a aquarium topoff than I would not recommend it though as it has to rise / fall quite a bit to turn on/off. You can control that by how long the cord to the float is but I would say minimum of 3". My tanks drop about 18" before it turns on. There are many ato devices out there like the jbj auto top off that work excellent for fish tanks. It's what I use on my 280g. Hope that helps

Answer:	Switch activation needs to be measured in Degrees not rise. The rise is directionaly proportional to the length of power cord attached to the switch from where it is tethered. The longer the cord, the more the rise. To answer you question, I would say somewhere between a 45 and 60 Degree angle will make or break the connection.

What is the SPT algorithm?

When pressing 3 buttons simultaneously while initializing the device, the FZONE ATO will calculate and remember the single pumping time (SPT).

• If the water level is below "LOW", the SPT is 50% of the time required to go from the "LOW" level to the "MID" level.
• If the water level is between "LOW" and "MID", the SPT is the time required to reach the "MID" position.

What are the advantages of SPT algorithm?

• It avoids overfilling. Every time the pump uses SPT, the water level will not exceed the "MID" level.
• It also avoids running dry. When the water level goes below "LOW", the ATO controller pump starts working. If the water level is still below “LOW" after 3 attempts, the buzzer will sound. This will avoid pump damage.

Answer:	Only waste and fresh water tanks use the sensors. There is a wire for the propane system, but you have to have the sensor from your original system that hooks directly to your propane system for that to work.
