However, be sure to leave at least 1/2" between the sender and the tank wall to allow for vibration and sediment. |

Use a 12vdc battery to provide power to the unit, hook a small trickle charger to the battery to plug into outlet to keep battery charged. **There is a gage unit that is installed in the tank (sending unit) that is required also to make this gauge read. |

Answer: | I would think that a 9 Volt lithium would be safer than an alkaline. These water detectors are supposed to signal low battery life. But you have to hear it and in fact it has to signal. The extra money for the lithium is worth it. There is no reason not to use lithium. |

Answer: | I have owned my only 1 week. It’s a 9 volt battery and my guess depends on the quality of battery and how often it is triggered or alarm sounding. I would guess that you should test it regularly and replace it when the low battery alarm sounds or 1 year, whichever is shortest. |

Answer: | There are 2 small metal nodes that you can see on the outside in the picture. When moisture connects the 2 nodes the alarm sounds. I test these devices with a moistened finger, not much water at all. Very high humidity can trigger them as well, that is, humidity above atmospheric norm. |

Answer: | I use ours on our home water storage tanks. There's really nothing that could contaminate anything. It's just a hard plastic case and an extension cord. No different than most aquarium devices. If your using it for a aquarium topoff than I would not recommend it though as it has to rise / fall quite a bit to turn on/off. You can control that by how long the cord to the float is but I would say minimum of 3". My tanks drop about 18" before it turns on. There are many ato devices out there like the jbj auto top off that work excellent for fish tanks. It's what I use on my 280g. Hope that helps |

Answer: | Switch activation needs to be measured in Degrees not rise. The rise is directionaly proportional to the length of power cord attached to the switch from where it is tethered. The longer the cord, the more the rise. To answer you question, I would say somewhere between a 45 and 60 Degree angle will make or break the connection. |

Press “Pause” after "Di", alarm function turned on; Press "Pause" after "Didi", alarm function will be turned off; press "Pause" after "Dididi", only turn off alarm fucntion for High water monitor.(Will not alarm when water level reach High and keeps 20 minutes) |

What is the SPT algorithm?
When pressing 3 buttons simultaneously while initializing the device, the FZONE ATO will calculate and remember the single pumping time (SPT).
- If the water level is below "LOW", the SPT is 50% of the time required to go from the "LOW" level to the "MID" level.
- If the water level is between "LOW" and "MID", the SPT is the time required to reach the "MID" position.
What are the advantages of SPT algorithm?
- It avoids overfilling. Every time the pump uses SPT, the water level will not exceed the "MID" level.
- It also avoids running dry. When the water level goes below "LOW", the ATO controller pump starts working. If the water level is still below “LOW" after 3 attempts, the buzzer will sound. This will avoid pump damage.

LOW Sensor
- Detects water level, when the water level is below the “LOW" level, starting the pump to fill the tank.
MID Sensor
- Calculating the SPT time. Using the SPT algorithm, the pump will not fill water beyond the "MID" position.
- Stopping water filling once the level reach "MID", proverent overfill;
HIG sensor
- Stopping water filling once the level reach "HIG", proverent overfill;
- "High level monitor". If the water level stays above "HIGH" for over 20 minutes, the buzzer will sound (this sensor prevents buzzing while feeding the fish or cleaning the tank).
Built-in customizable buzzer sounds in abnormal conditions
- Buzzing function can be turned on/off as needed.
- Sounds when the pump runs dry, when the tank has a high water level, or when the sensor isn’t working.
How to customize buzzer function?
Press and hold "Pause" and "Lock" buttons at the same time till you hear a beep sound, you will hear "Di", "DiDi", "DiDiDi" sound circularly.
- Press "Pause" after "Di", buzzing function will be turned on. Divice will alarm in all abnormal conditions.
- Press "Pause" after "Didi", buzzing function will be turned off. Device will NOT alarm in all abnormal conditions
- Press "Pause" after "DiDiDi", Only "High level monitor" function turned off.
