| Answer: | To access the old switch, from the outside of the unit I disassembled the heater. Going slowly, removinf fasteners as it became apparent they were next to be removed. Caution, - be sure you turn off the electrical supply for the heater prior to beginninh as 12 volt dc will make quite a shower of sparks if a hot positive wire touches anything grounded to the chassis. Sorry I cannot give you a step by step account- my replacement was a couple of years ago with no problems since. |

| Answer: | Maybe. Once the diode blows for over heat, nothing works. You can verify with an ohm meter but disconnect one end to get it out if the circuit. I carry spares of these. If bugs get in my heater and it overheats, I have to clean it out and replace the diode because it has blown due to heat. Good luck |

I do not have my trailer here right now, but looking at the manual here for the water heater it shows your water heater model number in the grid for the pilot ignition (vs an electronic ignition). I had no trouble changing it out - easy job. DO NOT kink the tubing lines when bending them to reach the two connections. They bend very easily. And also, the fittings only need to be snugly tightened. Don't over tighten them. If you want to check for leaks, with your gas tank on, use some soapy water on the fittings. No bubbles means you are good to go. Hope this helps. |
