11 best trailer leveling
Trailer leveling is a crucial aspect of setting up and stabilizing a travel trailer, camper, or RV (Recreational Vehicle). It involves ensuring that the trailer is level both side-to-side and front-to-back when parked, which is essential for comfort, safety, and functionality. Proper leveling helps distribute weight evenly, prevents strain on the trailer's frame, and ensures that appliances like the refrigerator work correctly. Here are some key points related to trailer leveling:
Leveling Tools: To level a trailer, you'll need leveling tools such as leveling blocks, leveling ramps, leveling jacks, or stabilizer jacks. These tools help you raise or lower specific areas of the trailer to achieve a level position.
Side-to-Side Leveling: Side-to-side leveling is achieved by placing leveling blocks or ramps under the wheels of one side of the trailer. You drive or back the trailer onto these blocks or ramps until it is level.
Front-to-Back Leveling: Front-to-back leveling is accomplished by adjusting the tongue jack or leveling jacks at the front and rear of the trailer. You raise or lower these jacks to achieve a level position from front to back.
Bubble Levels: Many trailers have bubble levels mounted on the exterior to help you gauge the levelness of your trailer. You can also use a handheld bubble level inside the trailer to check if it is level.
Stabilization: Once the trailer is level, you can use stabilizer jacks to prevent excessive movement or rocking when you're inside. These jacks are placed near the corners of the trailer and are extended to make the trailer more stable.
Chocks: Wheel chocks are used to prevent the trailer from rolling when parked. They are placed on both sides of the wheels to keep them from moving.
Safety Considerations: Leveling a trailer safely is essential. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for leveling your specific trailer model. Use leveling tools appropriate for your trailer's weight and size, and be cautious when working under or around the trailer.
Electric and Hydraulic Systems: Some modern trailers come equipped with electric or hydraulic leveling systems. These systems allow for easy leveling at the push of a button, making the process more convenient.
Aftermarket Accessories: There are various aftermarket accessories available, such as electronic leveling systems and smartphone apps that can assist in leveling your trailer more precisely.
Proper trailer leveling is not only essential for comfort but also for the longevity of your RV and its appliances. It's a crucial step in setting up your RV or camper at a campsite, ensuring that you have a safe and enjoyable experience while on the road.

User questions & answers
Question: | How sturdy are these? i have a class b rv that weighs about 9500 lbs dry (only 4 wheels). i used plastic block levelers from campingworld and they broke in their first use |
Answer: | This is my second set of these blocks (because I needed more to level on steep incline) only one of the first ten has failed and that's because i did line it up with the jack. My class A Rv weighs 22000 dry they have served me well for 6 months |
Question: | What's the difference between Camco 44512 and 44505 models |
Answer: | 44505 is our leveling blocks. 44512 is our Fasten Leveling Blocks with T-Handle. You can give us a call at 800-334-2004 if we can be of further assistance. Thanks. |
Question: | What is the weight limit for these Camco blocks? For the Camco Trileveler it is only 4000 lbs |
Answer: | I've used them used under the wheels of some rather large class A motorhomes. What destroys them is if they start to slide when you drive onto them. You have to orient them like a staircase so that you are not attempting to "climb" more than the thickness of "one block per step". Rough, rocky ground can also damage them. In many situations, you'll need more than just 10 blocks. If you really want to be prepared, get 20, or even 30 blocks (two or three 10-pks.) If you use them under the rear of a motorhome that has duals, you need separate "staircases" of blocks for inner/outer wheels, because the blocks are not wide enough to support both inner and outer wheels on the width of a single block. |
Question: | What are the dimensions of each block |
Answer: | 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 x 1 Warning: The 10 answers you will find here all have one thing in common, none of them had a clue but decided to added a few inches here and there. If you can't scroll down the description to find the dimensions, maybe it's time to put your mouse pad away for the winter. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I have a 30,000 lb. motorhome and wonder what is the best product for putting under leveling jacks |
Answer: | My Class A motorhome has a GVW of 26,000 pounds and I've used the Lynx leveling blocks and caps under my rear hydraulic leveling jacks, where most of the weight is, without a problem. |
Question: | Is this made in USA |
Answer: | Yes, they are made in the USA |
Question: | This 10 pack results in 3 inches of lift, correct? (Can't find that detail on this Amazon page |
Answer: | By the way, the full 4-3-2-1 arrangement will give you about 4.5" of lift. You would need all 20 from 2 sets, and not have enough land to build in the center. To get 4 levels under each wheel, you would have to place all 20 from 2 sets, pulling forward and backward a few times, while you build each stack. We've never needed more than 3 levels. |
Question: | How are these for use on dirt/gravel/grass un-level ground (campsite)? I would be using these in campgrounds to drive my 81 VW Vanagon up on |
Answer: | These are specifically made for unlevel conditions. The only concern is you have to watch the gravel. You don't want big chunky rocks under these. I had to buy two kits as one wasn't enough. I use them on a 12k Lb tandem axle 38 ft 5th wheel. Takes 3 under each wheel for me just for starters then one under the landing gear and rear stabilizers. That's 16 and gives me 4 more to add to the low side. If the campsite it any more out of level then that I don't want to park there anyhow. |

Typically, the amount of space needed between tires to fit without cutting is about 2.5" to 3" of space, but this varies with tire size. Our package includes clear and detailed instructions regarding the trimming of the levelers.

User questions & answers
Question: | How well does it work on soft dirt? Does the chock also work on soft earth |
Answer: | Yes , it does! I don’t have any problem ! |
Question: | Is the black portion of the leveler some kind of anti-slip material, or is it just black, slick plastic |
Answer: | Our Camper Leveler Anti-Slip feature consists of a Special Jointing System between the precise grip channels situated on the Leveler's bottom surface and the notches on the Chock's top surface. |
Question: | Where are they made? Can you get them in a 3 pack |
Answer: | Noticed a 3 pack is now available here on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/CARMTEK-Camper-Leveler-Kit-Levelers/dp/B08NTVZ6QP |
Question: | Can use this on a RV that has dual axle |
Answer: | Yes, you can use them on RV with dual axle. But please be sure to measure the distance between tires before ordering. The amount of space needed between tires depends on tire size. Typically it is about 2.5" to 3" of space, but this varies with tire size. For some dual axle trailers with smaller spaces to fit the camper leveler between, one leveler may need to be cut to length to fit. Up to 4" can be cut off the leveler end with no adverse effects. The package comes with clear instructions regarding the trimming of the camper levelers, in case this will be needed. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be installed in the front storage compartment of a 5th wheel or should it be install inside the 5 th wheel |
Answer: | We mounted ours inside the cupboard over the table because that was the most center of our 5th wheel. You could probably put it up in the storage compartment as long as the 5th wheel is level when you do that and that it's the center of your trailer. |
Question: | Will this also work for a driveablke mnotorhome |
Answer: | I don't see why not. It is a leveling device.I think it will work perfectly. |
Question: | Are you selling/shipping the 2nd generation with on/off switch? it says that you are shipping but want to be sure i am purchasing the gen |
Answer: | I have 1st gen and argued with their support for while about it not having an on/off switch. They made the statement that the average RV only travels once or twice a year. I explained that the folks willing to fork out this kind of money for this single function might be traveling weekly or daily. PUT A SWITCH ON IT!!!! Now, they have agreed with me and others, I suppose. For those with Gen1, I would suggest what I'm going to do...1) Get a 15 cent micro switch and install it on the cover. 2) Get a 3v cell battery (not a button....the larger types you might find in a garage remote or something. With some small wires, tape, whatever you need, wire in the switch and bigger battery. Should run as well if not better than the gen 2 if you have a much higher capacity battery. |
Question: | The book says to calibrate with the slideouts deployed. Yet elsewhere it suggests keeping the slideouts in. Are the slideouts supposed to be retract |
Answer: | The slide outs should be extended when initially leveling the RV during setup. Before completing the Set Level step, the slide outs should be retracted. This causes the LevelMatePRO to record the slightly off level position with the slides in as the level point. This is needed because you do the leveling with the slides in. Once you use the LevelMatePRO to level with the slides in, when you put the slides out you should be back at the point you were at when you did the initial leveling during the setup process |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you stack two of these together to use similar to the rapid jack 3620 product? Perhaps putting the rubber mat between the two |
Answer: | When we tried to use this on the passenger side trailer tire, it slipped and caused the whole trailer to slide backwards and Jack came off the chocks. Hot mess!!! We ended up going to Tractor Supply for heavy rubber chocks. They work great and were much cheaper. These Andersons are pretty light and not worth the money. Just our experience. |
Question: | Does the anderson rv levels, come as a set or separate for each one. thanks |
Answer: | It takes the two items pictured to chock one wheel. I purchased a double set so both tires would be chocked on the side needing to be raised. I have been very happy with this purchase. |
Question: | I want to use on a motorhome. Axle weights are under 30K, can I use this product |
Answer: | The Camper Levelers work great on motorhomes up to 30K pounds. There are a lot of people using the Camper Levelers on their motorhomes with a lot of success. The Camper Levelers have a lifetime warranty. If it ever breaks, Andersen Hitches would replace it. |
Question: | How wide are the leveler? They look pretty narrow in the picture |
Answer: | 6" , I thought so in pictures also , Heavy and seem to be pretty sturdy. Haven't had a chance to use them yet but they were recommended to me. |
Product features
Step One:
Push the skinny end of the camper leveler right into the tire as far as you can push it. Make sure it is really tight. Be sure to do this with all camper levelers you are using!
Step 2:
Using a bubble level (or whatever means you have) to determine when you are level, have one person driving and the other watching the level.
Tip: It's helpful to put your truck in low 4-wheel drive and take it slow!
The driver slowly drives onto the levelers, and the person who is watching the level hollers when the trailer is level.
Some people use walkie-talkies to communicate when the trailer is level. It's also possible to do this yourself if you have a level on your trailer big enough to see in your rearview mirror.
Step 3:
If you can, you should go just a TINY bit past when you are level so that when your truck settles you'll be just right! Stop, chock... and you're done!
Andersen Camper Leveler Kit
How do you use the Andersen Camper Leveler? It's easy! Simply drive on until level, chock... and done!
COMMON QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:
- What is the minimum distance between wheels that is needed for the levelers to fit? An approximate distance for most standard tires is around 2" to 3".
- What happens if I order the levelers and they don't fit? Are there any other solutions besides sending them back? You can trim the levelers. You will receive an emailed guide. You can trim up to 4" off with no adverse effect.
- Everything on your listing seems to say theses are for trailers or campers. Will they work with my RV? It's a Class C with a GVWR of 11,000. Yes, Camper Levelers will work with RVs, but what's your tire size? The radius of our Camper Leveler is around 15"-16", which translates into a perfect curve for tires up to about 31"- 32". Once the tire size goes past that, there will be some space under the middle of the tire that creates downward pressure on each end of the Camper Levelers (see photo on right). If your tires are spaced at least 2-3" apart and are no bigger than 32" diameter, they should work great for you!

Especially if you go to areas rarely visited by other people, there is a high possibility you won’t be able to park on a leveled area. However, making sure your RV is level is important since many appliances in a motorhome should not be tilted or else they’ll be ruined, like your RV refrigerator for example. Would you rather move your RV to a less desirable area just so it’s on level ground? Of course not; I’m sure you’ll do something to make your RV level enough. But instead of relying on rocks or using your jack, you should use RV leveling blocks.

Question: | Can these be used for storing an RV on a grassy side yard in order to keep the tires from sinking |
Answer: | Well now the brown ones are $12.66 more than the yellow ones, see what you've done? |
Question: | Can these be used in colder winter months when I store my camper to keep the tires off the ground |
Answer: | No it has no lights. |
Question: | Why are the yellow ones $12.76 more than the brown ones |
Answer: | We initially thought the same thing. The motor would run, but the wheels wouldn't turn. It turned out that we really had to push the wheels into the motor hard, they clicked in place, and now it works great. |

It's just one more way that our system goes the extra mile.
An Uplifting Set of Ramps

By making leveling a one-minute process, you'll also have more time to enjoy your trip and make lasting memories.
- ● Level Your RV in a Flash: These RV tire levelers let you spend less time on fussing and more time on fun. Just drive onto the ramps to level your rig up to almost 4 inches in height. Then you'll be free to enjoy family, food, and the great outdoors
- ● Frustration-Free Leveling: Without rubber mats, other leveling systems will kick out or slide when you try to drive onto them. That's why our camper level ramps always include nonslip mats. They keep everything in place for simple, secure leveling
- ● No Tools Necessary: While other brands require you to cut their ramps to size, ours fit perfectly even in short wheelbase tandem axle trailers. Why buy something you need to cut up to use? Our RV leveling kit comes ready to go right out of the box
- ● A Chock that Rocks: With the EZ RV leveler, we focus on the small details to make RV camping easier. Our chocks have built-in handles, so you can get a firm grip to remove them. Forget kicking and screaming at your chocks; ours make removal a cinch
- ● Tough Durable Construction: When it comes to camping, you need accessories you can depend on. That's why our RV levelers are made from heavy duty high impact polymer. They provide the lasting strength you need to keep your rig level for years to come
User questions & answers

Answer: | It is a set for tandem. I have two axles and it comes with two ramps and two blocks. One for each axle. |
Question: | Will these work on 22.5 inch tires? Last ones i purchased didn't |
Answer: | If you have 22.5 rims your rv may be to heavy for something like this. |
Question: | Do you need one for each tire and both sides? Or will one due for leveling if I have a stabilizer and other chocks |
Answer: | You will only need to use the EZ RV Leveler on one side of the trailer, the low side, and one leveler per tire. |
Question: | Can these be used on gravel |
Answer: | With the included rubber mats they will do much better than the systems without. The others tend to slip much more. |

User questions & answers
Question: | the 40lb item weight, is that for all |
Answer: | Yes, I purchased them and they actually weighted about 11lbs each jack... |
Question: | How far apart are two top bolts/scissor-arm-axles, center to center? Want to use existing welded plates on frame |
Answer: | Hello, If you talking about the bolts in the mounting plate. They are 2 inches apart. Front to back. That is center of bolts. Hope that helps. |
Question: | Do these have to be mounted in order to use as stabilizer |
Answer: | Yes, have to be mounted either by bolts or by welding, it’s for the safety |
Question: | What is the retracted length, is it 12" or 26 ½? Please reply soon |
Answer: | I can only verify information on items sold by classacustoms Extend Height: 24" Collapsed Height: roughly 4" Collapsed Length: roughly 27" (this includes screw) If the distance between the ground and your trailer frame is less than 20 inches you should use 24 inch jacks (not 30 inch jacks) Do Not use the scissors jack to lift excessive weight or tires off the ground. Jack is made to stabilize your unit, not lift unit off the ground. Vehicle frame and door jam damage may result. Do Not use these scissors jack as a tire changing jack. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these the type of ramps u can pull a lawn mower/4-wheeler/ or even a car up on to change oil, blades etc |
Answer: | U could , but they aren't that tall, don't know if it would raise them up high enough to change the oil |
Question: | Do this works for an rv 30 feet long |
Answer: | I use them on my 26 foot long RV. |
Question: | Can i use them to service a car |
Answer: | You could.... Be aware of the amount of lift they will provide and if that is enough for the type of service you will be doing. Secondly, and probably more important is that this style ramp does not have a significant flat area to add a bit of security/stability for keeping the vehicle in place while working on it. Chocking wheels either way is a safety must do. |
Question: | can they be used for dual axle trailers |
Answer: | I just got mine so I cant speak from experience but I watched a video on leveling campers and the guy only used one of these for a tandem axle camper. I'm hoping one will work because I don't have a large enough space between my wheels to use 2. The only complaint I saw was that it slides when its on concrete. I attached a 3/8" thick rubber mat to the two holes on the front of the leveler kinda like a mud flap that the tire can roll up on about 8" before it makes contact with the actual leveler to keep it still. Hope it works. Ill see next weekend. Happy camping! |
