Question:	Does this pump have a safety switch
Answer:	Yes, Andrew Bauer covered it well. However, you must regularly maintain the pump according to the manufacturer's instructions, or the safety switch won't work when needed. I didn't know about the maintenance requirement (thanks, installers), so my 18 year old old pump didn't stop the A/C and I ended up with water all over the place. The one time in 18 years I needed the safety switch and it didn't work! Just make sure you put pump maintenance on your calendar.
Question:	All these pumps use 3/8" tubing. I have a 40' run (3.5' max lift). I think PVC would be easier to keep the drain line straight (no sags). Thoughts
Answer:	A 40' run is a long way, but since your rise is only 3 1/2', that should not be a problem. I'm not a pro, but I expect the pump to work fine as long as you adhere to the 3/8" diameter.

Answer:	This is basically a transfer pump that won't develope higher pressure if you are concerned about psi.

Answer:	Nope, no more wiring will be needed. All you will need to do is ensure the water line from the A/C is in place, and the output hose is in place. It will work just fine at that point. I actually have a hose from a dehumidifier into it, as well as the line from the A/C, and it works perfectly for me.

Question:	Can i use pex tubing for the discharge
Answer:	from what I have read about the uses of pex tubing. you can use anything you choose for discharge as long as it can slide onto the nipple on the pump. the pump comes with a good amount of clear tubing included to do most of the distance you may need, if not just add another nipple barb from the hardware store (plastic-brass) its a very powerful,quiet little pump so a long discharge line is possible.

Answer:	Although this pump is rather large, I was able to install it inside the elbow of a lineset cover. This pump was way too large to fit inside the head units themselves along with the wiring, lineset, and drain. It is VERY quiet though and works fine.

Answer:	you mount it below a condensate drain, when the lower box gets full the pump turns on, and pumps the condensate thru the supplied tube to a drain or outside to the ground.

Answer:	I would say that should be no problem. As soon as the black tub fills, it triggers the pump, which is a great little workhorse. The pump capacity will be much more then the dehumidifiers.

Question:	I have an overflow pan for my central a/c unit. Can this pump sit in the pan to drain if the pan becomes full or does it eliminate the pan by pumping directly from the a/c. Have already had one ceiling lick because of a clogged drain line. Thanks for any info
Answer:	The pump replace the pan and has an automatic shut off that can be connected to heat/air system to shut it down so humidifier and airconditioner are also shut off if pump fails. The pump can be set up to pump to drain or sink.

Answer:	it is not made to be inside a dehumidifier tray. you will need to rub a tube or garden hose from the drain on the humidifier drain tub to the hole on top of the pump. then it will pump the water out from the pump holding tank.

Question:	does the pump have automatic re-start in the event of a power outage
Answer:	Yes. This is how it works. There are two float switches inside the tank. One controls the pump by floating up as the water level rises. When it reaches the end of its travel it completes an electrical circuit and the pump turns on to empty the tank. If the pump does not activate for whatever reason the second float switch will complete its travel as the water continues to rise and then disconnect a relay switch which is connected to the wires that will need to be spliced into the power cord of whatever device you are running(ac or dehumidifier). This relay switch interrupts the power to the device (such as a dehumidifier or ac unit). That being said if the device(dehumidifier or ac)does not have a feature allowing it turn back on automatically after power loss then it will remain off until you physically turn it back on. So as long as the ac or dehumidifier or whatever you're running can turn back on by itself once it gets power again then yes it will turn back on. If not then I don't think any of the condensation pumps will work for you as they all seem to operate basically the same way.

Answer:	That's just what it is used for and you don't put it inside the tank as that would ruin the pump. Just run your discharge hose directly from the dehumidifier into the pump unit and it will automatically pump from their as it fills

Utility Pumps

Utility pumps are used to transfer water from one source to another or to drain water from surfaces. Many of them are designed to drain water as close as 1/8" from the surface. Water being transferred may have some solids in the water, but they cannot be larger than 1/8'. Question:	Has anyone pulled one of these open to see what the motor shaft/impeller connnection is like ? i'm replacing a beckett cu-14-1 that had a press fit
Answer:	I pried the pump off the motor shaft. It is just a friction fit. The pump and check valve are an integral unit, so that the check valve is difficult to clean and is NOT replaceable. I devised a method with a garden hose to squirt hot water through the pump and out the check valve. My unit is 18 years old. I will put vinegar in the unit for over the Winter (or completely empty it) in the future.
Question:	Will this pump water up 8' to the ceiling area and then 40' across to a drain
Answer:	Ours travels about 8' up and then about 20' across to drain outdoors. I'll bet 40' would work fine, but I haven't tried it.
