Answer:	it works just like a fan, it does not make the air cold or hot, it just circulates it very quickly. I never tested it to see if it defrosted windows.

Answer:	I can give you a rough estimate. It is approximately 6 ft. I was surprised. I had purchased extension links expecting half that length. No need for them. I have the fan mounted in the back seat areas clipped to the clothes rack above the back window and the extra cord drapes down back to the floor.

Answer:	It depends on the vehicle. If your cigarette lighter gets hot with the ignition off, then yes the fan will also function while the ignition is off. However it's probably not the best idea because eventually the battery will be drained.

The speed control switch is built into the plug-in male power cord. This works well but I changed it out for an "easy to reach" variable speed control on the dash. I think the fan would work great for your gill project.

Answer:	I don't have the other fans to compare to, but this one puts out alot of air. Much more than any other 12v fan I've tried. It is noisy though, as others have noted.

Answer:	Never took it apart, but I doubt it - the speed control gets very warm, almost hot. Digital controllers run cooler than this. Actually, I hope it isn't. I removed the clip and mounted it on my lawn tractor. The clip would be fine in a car, truck, or enclosed farm tractor, but the rough ride kept bouncing it off target.
