| Answer: | Well both use the same nicad battery. I have one maglite that is 30 years old as well as the new one RL1019 LED model. The LED charger cradle is different. It looks at the battery while being charged and gives a particular LED color (red, orange, or green) which the older cradle doesn't do. It will also condition the battery. The Wall Plug is the same and both the maglites have the two silver charge bands around them, but the LED one has different electronics inside the head. To be safe I would suggest calling maglite and ask them. |

| Answer: | The charging base is pretty stout. It takes a bit of pressure to release mine, it has never failed me while bouncing across the pasture in a 1 ton. I haven't mounted mine in the mud buggy yet, but feel very confident that it would hold in almost all situations. I say almost as I don't know how well it would hold in a quick barrel roll, centrifugal force might cause it to come out. I do have it mounted securely to a metal backed area. |

I have rain barrels that i use to push the water out.thru my hose for the garden. I have used it to wash the drivewa but the pressure is not as great as the pressure coming from the outside water spigot connected to house plumbing. Hope this helps. |

| Answer: | The weight of the batteries compresses the spring in the tail cap when aiming the light straight up. May need to gently stretch the spring or put a spacer between the coils of the spring. The spring in this model is shorter than the older models. Unfortunately there is a difference in the diameter of the spring and they are not interchangeable |

| Answer: | An LED flashlight is never the same as an incandescent light. Among other things the spectrum is different, generally shiftedd toward the shorter wavelengths with very little in the infrared range. It will have much longer battery life, and it will be much more luminous. This particular version also has some programmable modes that are missing in an incandescent version that is either "off" or "on". LED units are generally less susceptible to breakage from shock when dropped, which is why I replaced the bulbs in my old incandescent units with LEDs. I have not drop tested this (expensive) light and I have no intention of dropping it on purpose. The LED in this unit is far brighter than the conversions. As far as "quality" goes, you would have to define what you mean by "quality". Maglite flashlights are generally of what i would call high quality, and this one is no exception. You may have another definition of the term. |
