Answer:	I live in a metro area with several dozen stations, but I'm 20 miles from the transmitting antenna used by the majority of them. Some receivers (especially in my basement) have trouble pulling in some of the stations, but this radio seems to pick them up pretty well, even without the built-in antenna extended. One thing to beware of: although the amplifiers and speakers in this unit are stereo, and you will hear stereo when you're playing from Aux or Bluetooth, the built-in FM tuner is NOT STEREO. The actual FM tuner is mono, and when you listen to the radio you'll hear the same sound out of both sides. This is relevant to the FM reception question because the way stereo information is transmitted under North America's FM standard, reception is generally more challenging to stereo tuners. Cheaper mono tuners tend to have better reception, and that's what's in this unit. But again, reception is quite good in my listening area.

Jump start the battery to get a few volts into it or put it in parallel with a good battery, hook this unit to that and charge it. After it's charged put it on the recondition cycle for 24 hours. If that doesn't restore your battery to full working condition your battery is shot beyond repair. But this unit give you the opportunity to pull it back from a point that nothing else will.
