Answer:	I have a 2009 Cobalt. I change my oil when the indicator comes up on the dash. Usually within the time frame of 5 -1 % of life left. My Cobalt has almost 200,000 miles on it. The computer actually knows when the oil needs changed. How? The computer calculates the length of time the car runs, temperatures the car is exposed and more. In effect, the computer knows when the oil is losing it's level of viscosity. Viscosity = Sticky. Oil needs to be sticky to cling to the internal parts of the engine. Again, oil must be sticky to be protect the engine. Trust me, the car's computer knows. The only way the car doesn't know is if you don't start it and or you don't drive it. In that case, you would need to change the oil far more often. The worst effect any engine deals with is not being run. Second worst is starting the car and not allowing the engine to reach normal operating temperatures. Start the car and drive it. Doing so causes the moisture in the oil to be burned off. Moisture in the crankcase causes internal rust. Internal rust can damage the crank bearings. I have 4 GM cars. They all have high mileage. Let the car tell you when to change the oil. Btw, I use this oil in all my cars. It's among the best.

It is also usually on the oil fill cap. If you are actually putting 23 thousand miles a month on your vehicle then you should change this oil based on every 15000 miles not once a year. I would send your oil to places that test oil after in your engine to be sure you can make it 15000 miles. Blackstone labs is one of those places. I would check oil levels constantly with every few gas fill ups any way to make sure it doesn't get too low. If you off road in the wet then you may need to change it more often because it can become contaminated with water.

Answer:	I checked a virgin oil analysis for this oil, it showed no moly to speak of in the oil. Moly is typically what causes issues in a wet clutch system. I have used Castrol 0-30 in my wet clutch motorcycle and it performs very well. The formulation for the Castrol 0-30 and 0-40 appear to be very close, outside of the viscosity. The 0-30 is considered a "heavy" 30 weight the 0-40 is considered a "light" 40 weight. I would use this oil in my wet clutch applications.

Answer:	This is a full Synthetic, I believe the EDGE product line is always fully synthetic. The advantage of using to 0W-20 is usually improved fuel economy or gas mileage. Some newer import engines specify either 5W-20 or 0W-20, but if you can you should use 0W-20 as it generally reduces start-up friction compared to 5W-20. Some people are also using 0W-20 even if their engines call for 5W-30 for the benefit of reduced startup wear and improved fuel economy.

Question:	Does this have any zddp for flat tappet cam engines
Answer:	Yes, all motor oils do. It just doesn't have enough. This has between 600 and 800 ppm ZDDP. It has less every year. High lift flat tappet cam needs 1200ppm minimum. You can't just add ZDDP to modern oil. It causes massive sludge build up. I found this out first hand. Started getting low oil pressure in a high lift cam in a BBC. Engine was full of sludge. Had less than 20k miles and frequent oil changes. Oil pump pickup was clogged, along with the rest of the engine. Unfortunately, you should buy oil that has the proper concentration of ZDDP in the original blend. Its expensive, and conventional, not synthetic. No more flat tappet cams for me. Have to spend the $$ for roller conversions.
Question:	Any thoughts about using this in an older '01 engine? Used to use conventional; lately been using syn-blend
Answer:	Synthetic blend oil is 4 percent synthetic the rest conventional. That is all the requirement to label as a synblend. This is ideal for older engines and new ones. It contains 1000ppm of ZDDP. Almost all other oils on the market are at 600ppm which is way too low. Its as high as you can get without spending big bucks for specialty oils. Dump it in with a mobil 1 oil filter and change every 10k miles. Synthetic oil is conventional oil from the ground that has been re refined and enhanced, change back and forth without any issues. I run mobil 1 hm in 14 vehicles I am responsible for. They still suffer internal failures from the automakers sourcing their parts from the cheapest bidder and not hardening testing parts, and terrible timing chain manufacturers but at least the engine looks new inside.

Answer:	Yes I always use 1 qt of marvel mystery oil with 5 qts of Mobil 1 high mileage full synthetic in my Avalanche. Marvel mystery oil is amazing stuff that keeps your engine clean and prevents/stops any noise from lifters etc.

Answer:	It's really up to you. I'm not completely sure if it's a seal conditioner additive that differentiates the extended performance from the regular mobil 1 but things tend to wear with age. I put it in my 2008 V8 Pathfinder which didn't have an oil leak issue and it works well. I converted over when it had about 90K on it. I also have a 19 year old car that was leaking oil and was significantly reduced when I used the Extended Mobil 1.

Question:	I drive only 2500 miles (severe driving) per year. Is 1.5 years (3750miles) OCI ok using PP or should I go by 1/2 year time interval
Answer:	Few things to consider:1) Have you been running Synthetics in the car prior to this change or is this your first or 2nd synthetic change?2) How many miles on the car? (how old)The answer to the first 2 questions will determine how sluged up your engine is and if changing to a synthetic and waiting a year is a wise thing. For example, if your car is 5 years old and has 40k miles on it and you have been running only conventional then no, you should not wait a year on a synthetic. You should do the first two OCI's a short ones, 6 months or 1500 miles (whichever comes first). The first two OCI's will clean the sludge off the engine and most likely plug up the oil filter, so you will be running in a bypass mode.Now that we got that out of the way, then yeah you can keep it for a year and 2500 miles, I would not keep it for longer than a year due to condensation issues via season change. Synthetic oils are more resistant to acidification so they can last longer than 6 months in an engine but I would not go beyond a year. Also, that all depends how long you drive i.e. if you drive at lest 15 minutes with engine that reached it's operating temperature then you are ok, you have evaporated most of the condensation in the oil.The most important thing you should keep in mind is CHECK YOUR OIL if you are going to keep it for a year. You don't want to run low on it (just in case your engine eats the oil).
Question:	anyone know if this is the oil specified for the RAM (or jeep) ecodiesel
Answer:	No it's not. The ecodiesel engines now calls for 5-40 oil, not 5-30 anymore. Addendum cards have also been shipped to dealers which are to be added to owner's manuals. These cards recommend the use of synthetic 5W-40 engine oil that meets the FCA Material Standard MS-10902 and API CJ-4 specifications.
