I've used this product successfully multiple times, yes it does work - but that congealed element is THE critical element. I had success with putting a pot of water on the stove on medium heat, letting the material soak in hot water for 15m, then shaking it vigorously for a few minutes (WHILE WEARING AN OVEN MITT.) Mixed appropriately and worked great. |

Answer: | I used it in my 2011 FXDC at it really smoothed out the tranny (6 speed) in my opinion. FYI: I used Lucas 20w50 synthetic motorcycle in my chaincase and Lucas regular 20w50 synthetic (non-motorcycle) in the engine. I noticed an improvement all around almost immediately. Engine runs smoother, shifts better, and although I do not have a temp gauge on my bike I definitely feel like it runs cooler. If you have a Harley with 3 holes I'd definitely recommend using the non-motorcycle synthetic version for the engine as it has additional friction modifiers that makes it more 'slippery'. You just don't want to run a lubricant with additional friction modifiers where your clutch is. If you live in a hotter climate you may want to consider the 75W140 synthetic but I'm in Ohio so the 75W90 is perfect for me. |

Answer: | No experience with the NV4500. Been using it in an '08 Tacoma 5-speed since the first change (now 150K+) with no problems. Two things to keep in mind: 1- This is a GL-4; 2- it is not on NV's recommended list. Both the Redline website and "Bob is the oil guy.com" have a lot of info that might help you decide. |

Let it dry; wipe it off (dry) with a soft cloth and then wash it with dish soap; let it drip dry for a few minutes and finish polishing/brightening with a soft cloth. If your polish in the jar has dried up completely use enough on the water on the sponge to moisturize the dry polish. Please don’t dump water in......ineffective. |

Permatex 81182 Gear Oil RTV Gasket Maker
Specially formulated to withstand the harsh gear oil environment found in differentials and transfer cases. Because gear oil has friction modifiers that break down normal RTV and cause leaking. As a gasket maker, it seeks and seals leak paths that cut gaskets cannot. It can also be used to seal cut gaskets.
DIRECTIONS:
- For best results, clean and dry all surfaces with a residue-free solvent, such as Permatex Brake & Parts Cleaner.
- Cut nozzle to desired bead size, gaskets are best formed using a 1/16" to 1/4" (2 to 6 mm) bead.
- Apply a continuous and even bead of silicone to one surface; surround all bolt holes. Assemble parts immediately. Finger tighten bolts until material begins to squeeze out around flange. Allow to dry for one hour then retighten 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
- Silicone dries in 1 hour, and fully cures in 24 hours. Allow more time in cold or very dry conditions.
- Replace cap after use.
