13 best audi coolants

Audi, like many automobile manufacturers, recommends specific coolants or antifreeze formulations for use in their vehicles. Using the right coolant is essential for maintaining the proper operating temperature of your Audi's engine and protecting it from overheating or freezing. Here's what you should know about Audi coolants:

  1. Audi-Recommended Coolants: Audi typically specifies the use of a particular type of coolant or antifreeze for their vehicles. This coolant is formulated to meet the specific needs of Audi engines and cooling systems. It's crucial to use the recommended coolant to ensure optimal performance and avoid potential damage to your vehicle.

  2. Types of Coolant: Audi vehicles may use various types of coolant depending on the model and year.Common types include ethylene glycol-based coolant and long-life antifreeze. The exact type and color of coolant can vary, so it's essential to refer to your vehicle's owner's manual or consult with an Audi dealership to determine the appropriate coolant for your specific Audi model.

  3. Coolant Properties: Coolant serves several important functions in an Audi's engine. It helps regulate the engine's temperature, preventing it from overheating or freezing. Coolant also contains additives that protect against corrosion and scale buildup, which can be detrimental to the engine and cooling system components.

  4. Maintenance: Regular maintenance of your Audi's cooling system is essential. This includes checking coolant levels, inspecting for leaks, and ensuring that the coolant is clean and properly mixed. Over time, coolant can become contaminated or lose its effectiveness, so periodic replacement or topping up may be necessary.

  5. DIY vs. Professional Service: While topping up the coolant reservoir can often be done by vehicle owners, flushing and refilling the entire cooling system is a more involved process typically best handled by trained technicians. It's essential to follow Audi's recommendations and guidelines for cooling system maintenance.

In summary, using the correct coolant for your Audi is crucial for maintaining the proper operation of the engine and cooling system. Audi specifies the type of coolant to be used in its vehicles, so consult your owner's manual or an Audi dealership to ensure you're using the appropriate coolant for your specific Audi model and year. Proper coolant maintenance and monitoring are essential to keep your Audi's engine running smoothly.

User questions & answers

Question: When I Looked up this one popped up for dexcool. What’s the difference
Answer: I just had it installed a day ago it seems to have better power. And it also has seems to have better shift points I tried to program it for gas mileage doesn’t seem to of helped as of yet
Question: Is this a pink
Answer: The box it came in said it was for 2017 and up
Question: Is this green coolent
Answer: Yes, you can. But for best results, you should use with an oil change.
Question: What is the difference between this and Valvoline long life coolant for asian vehicles which sells for
Answer: HI Jon. Yes, I have noticed an improvement in oil consumption. We have a 02 Chevy Avalanche with about 220k on it and it would generally need a quart added between changes. We now add the Lucas Stabilizer as part of the oil change and there is now no need to add oil between changes. Also of note is that we had an annoying valve tappet noise when cold starting the engine. With the addition of the Lucas this has been significantly reduced. My Quicklube oil change shop does not carry Lucas but I order it on Amazon and take it with me and they add it. Hope this helps. Oh, one more thing, the Lucas automatic transmission additive is also extremely effective. Happy motoring.

User questions & answers

Question: What color is the coolant
Answer: it is light purple/violet - I used it in my 2007 GTI which called for the older G11 (pink) which I couldn't find. The G12+ is backwards compatible. The G11, G12 etc type is prone to shrinkage in very cold weather, I used it to top off my tank and stop the low coolant level alert I was getting in 10 degree weather. It's recommended to flush out the old G11 if you're adding much more than that to "maintain the purity of the system".
Question: Dont know if anyone has an answer but my car leaks this stuff and im afraid my dog will lick it do u k ow if this has the smell and taste deterant
Answer: Our Ravenol coolants contain a bittering agent. However, that being said it is recommended any leaking coolant be cleaned up immediately to keep pets safe.
Question: Will this work for a 2013 audi s
Answer: I would say yes because it is of similar requirements with VW
Question: Is this suitable for my VW Jetta
Answer: J4D2000-1 (G12+) coolant is an approved coolant for your vehicle. However, if you do not currently have G12+ coolant in your vehicle we recommend a complete flush prior to adding. Only use tap water to flush the entire cooling system. Do NOT use cooling system flush products. Many of these agents contain muriatic and/or other acids that can compromise your cooling system components.

User questions & answers

Question: Do I add this to the reservoir or the radiator
Answer: https://engineoil.api.org/Directory/EolcsResultsDetail?accountId=-1&companyId=11574&resultsUrl=%2FDirectory%2FEolcsResults%3FaccountId%3D-1 I know they only got their professional line certified. But really, all the logo does is give more money to the big boys. Redline oils have been around long enough and there are thousands of people that will tell you their products are as good as they come. I just put it into my brand-new 2018 Eclipse Cross and my 1997 3000GT VR4 uses Redline 5w30 for years. Redline says this to the warranty question Q: WILL USING RED LINE PRODUCTS VOID MY VEHICLE'S FACTORY WARRANTY? Using the appropriate Red Line product shouldn't invalidate your vehicle's warranty and question the mechanic or service manager that says so.
Question: Can I use this with just distilled water in the winter without using antifreeze
Answer: Yes, although I don't know why you would want to. Motorcycle oils are already pretty rich in Z and P. Now if you are deciding to run a 15w40 diesel oil, you may want to boost Z and P slightly if it is CK-4, and this product is appropriate for that. An SG, SH or even most SL motorcycle oils are all you need.
Question: Compatible with hoat (orange) coolant
Answer: No, use 5W-30 synthetic oil that meets GM4718M specifications or whatever is specified in your owners manual. The excess zinc and phosphate in Redline break-in oil is meant for hot rods with engines from the 1960's to 1980's with flat tappet camshafts, yours is a roller tappet engine. You could possibly cause damage to your oxygen sensors and catalytic converters if you use this product in your Cadillac. Look for oil that says Dexos1 (Dexos2 is for diesels) but remember to check that the oil meets GM4718M specs and is a 5W-30 synthetic.
Question: How much will a 12 once bottle treat? I have a 5 gallon system and will be adding it to used coolant
Answer: This oil is to break in a new engine. The engine in your new car was broken in at the manufacturer. Use oil that the manufacturer suggest.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this product undiluted? It seems as though almost all are 50-50 antifreeze and water; and I need to strengthen the solution in my truck after flus
Answer: Currently both concentrate and 50/50 are listed here. Make sure you choose the one you want. The choice is clearly marked so should have no problem
Question: Is this the same as toyota original coolant or is it different and unsafe to mix
Answer: Don't mix ready to use yes is for Toyota vehicle.match my 2018 corolla and Prius always check color and recommend factory matched coolant before top off
Question: Does this coolant meet totyota 00272sllc2 specification
Answer: Only Toyota can say for sure as the formula for 00272-SLLC2 is proprietary, generally speaking this coolant is compatible with Toyotas from 2004 forward, any models that call for pink Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC2) but not for prior year models using red Long Life Coolant (LLC) that may have copper/brass/lead base metals (heater cores or radiators) and it shouldn't be used. I’ve used it in my 2006 Sequoia w/ no issues.
Question: using inverter coolant on hybrid battery camry 2007 mix 50/50 with water
Answer: This stuff is concentrated, so mix 50 to 50 with Distilled water. They do also have the premixed stuff, so check to ensure what you got.

Product description

Evans High Performance Waterless Coolant is specifically designed for all modern, classic, vintage gasoline engines, light duty diesels, LP and CNG vehicles. Evans Waterless Coolants have a boiling point above 375 Degree Fahrenheit and will not vaporize, eliminating overheating, boil-over and after-boil, while generating very low vapor pressures reducing strain on engine cooling system components. Contains no oxygen, effectively eliminating corrosion, liner and cooling pump erosion, resulting in reduced maintenance costs. Eliminates pre-ignition and detonation caused by overheating, reducing downtime, improving combustion efficiency, and delivering more power. Provides low temperature freeze protection with a freezing point below -40F. Evans Prep Fluid should be used to ensure all residual water is removed from the system before adding Evans Waterless Coolant. Evans Prep Fluid is a waterless cooling system flush designed to seek out remaining water after draining the cooling system of an engine. Prep Fluid should be used when block drains are unavailable or cannot be removed. It is not a substitute for thoroughly draining the cooling system and related components. A minimum of 2 gallons of Prep Fluid is recommended for heavy duty diesel engines and 1 gallon of Prep Fluid is recommended for all motorcycles converting to High Performance Coolant or Powersports. Prep Fluid is NOT intended to be a stand-alone operating coolant, but as a flush only.

  • Evans Prep Fluid is a waterless cooling system flush designed to seek out remaining water after draining the cooling system of an engine, helping remove any residual water
  • Water removal is critical as a water content higher that 3% will lower the boiling point, and may reduce the corrosion and pump cavitation protection of Evans Waterless Coolant
  • During installation ensure that all of old water-based coolant and water is removed before installing this product

User questions & answers

Question: I plan on using this coolant in a john deere x738 garden tractor w/26hp gasoline engine. which coolant should i use, performance or hd
Answer: You could probably use either one. HD is primarily intended for heavy equipment, large trucks, busses etc. Performance is intended for automotive. If I were to use Evans in my Kubota B-7100 or John Deere 1250-D diesel tractors, I'd use the HD version. There is also a Powersports version for use in motorcycles, ATV's etc. That may work better in a small gas engine like yours. For more information, go to www.evanscoolant.com.
Question: I have a Backdraft cobra with a Ford 302 (stroked to 347), can you estimate quantities of each, flush and coolant? I'm thinking 4 of each
Answer: The only Ford I've done is my '96 F-250 with a 5.8L. It has a cooling system capacity of about 3 1/2 gallons. Your owners' manual should give your coolant capacity, and having the engine stroked shouldn't change that. If you've installed a larger radiator, you'll have to allow for that. One thing I ran into with my truck was draining the cooling system completely. That's very important, especially after the prep flush. Be sure to remove all of the drain plugs from the block and use high volume, low pressure air until no fluid comes out anywhere. This might take a couple hours, but it's well worth the time. Make sure the radiator and heater core are completely dry as well.
Question: Does this include Evans test strips to determine the water content and a warning sticker for the radiator cap to not add water
Answer: No stickers supplied. I email Evans Coolant and they sent a stack of them. No test strips supplied. The best way to test water content is with a refractometer. Evens Coolant sales the correct one.
Question: I own a 2015 hyundai veloster turbo with a 1.6l i4. how much prep fluid and coolant do i need
Answer: At least 2 gallons for a proper flush you have to make sure the heater core is completely flushed out as well so 2 gallons for sure

Evans High Performance Engine Coolant

Evans Waterless Coolants have a boiling point of 375°F, well above the boiling point of other engine coolants. This eliminates the vapor barrier that can cause hot spots and pre-ignition in engines with water based coolants. Evans Waterless Coolant ensures that the coolant remains in a liquid state and in constant contact with your internal engine components for consistently effective cooling.

Corrosion and Electrolysis Protection

Water is very corrosive and a good conductor of electricity. By eliminating water in your cooling system. Evans Waterless Coolants virtually eliminates corrosion and electrolysis when compared to water-based antifreeze.

Reduced Vapor Pressure

With heat water generates steam in you cooling system, causing high vapor pressure that exerts internal stress on cooling system components. With Evans High Performance Waterless Coolant, this pressure is dramatically reduced, extending the cooling system's operating life and preventing breakdowns.

User questions & answers

Question: DODGE 1968 blown gas, new aluminum heads, cast iron block, aluminum water pump, Are isues with different metals? ALL NEW
Answer: Hi,Evans coolant is a propylene glycol based coolant that is very non reactive. It does not corrode or change over time . Jay Leno has used it in his expensive Dusenbergs for over 15 years. For me it is a lifetime coolant. Be sure to flush all water out of your system (up to 3 percent is ok) and only add Evans coolant to your system.Gordon
Question: Does this come with the warning stickers? Also is one gallon of prep enough to flush out a v6 engine block
Answer: Before using the prep, I would recommend draining coolant by opening radiator, or overflow cap and draining from the low point on bottom of radiator. Use an air compressor and a rag and make a seal over radiator cap or overflow hole and blow the rest of that coolant out. Then you can put the prep fluid in, and some waterless coolant if needed and let your system circulate a few cycles before draining, and filling completely with the waterless coolant. Or you can just buy a boat
Question: Why is it 6 dollars cheaper to order 1 gallon 4 times than ordering 4 gallons in one order? Do the math
Answer: I am not the pricing guy. I would just order that one gallon 4 times if I were you.
Question: Does this come with the testing kit? And do the test strips expire
Answer: Both the Evans test strips and conversion kits were discontinued over a year ago. The test strips do have an expiration date, any test strips that may still be in circulation have expired. We are trying to remove all Amazon listings depicting either the test strips or conversion kits. Any questions concerning testing the water content of your coolant after converting your vehicle to Evans Coolant, please call the Evans tech line 888-990-2665 M-F 9am to 5pm eastern or e mail [email protected]
