Answer:	If you haven't ordered already I would go XL as long as your midsection isn't drastically bigger than mine. I'm 6'2" 220. I wear usually 34 jeans which fit good after they stretch out. Often with shorts or Khakis I have to size up because a 34 will be too tight in the hip area. These shorts in the xl have a great fit for me, plenty of mobility. The waist has a little room. I think it would accommodate a solid 36 waist. The drawstring + belt loops gives some sizing flexibility if they are a tad big.

Answer:	I ride ith them just as a single layer down to around 30 deg f. I ride using a thin thermal under layer down around 0 deg f. Colder than that... I tend not to ride.

Answer:	I just received these pants yesterday. I am 6'3" and wear a 36-38 inch waist depending on the pant . I bought a xxl, and would say you should be all set with xl. The waist was more than comfortable, but for your height, would go a size down.

Answer:	The material feels like a mixture of rubber & foam. There is nothing that I would consider "padding" on the inside, but there is some material that prevents the pants sticking to your skin when you perspire. This is probably the best feature.
