Answer: it is about 18" x 16" but it does not hold its shape well, I bought for my 9 lb. mini dachshund and she does lay rather on it rather than in it, but she uses the round one I bought with the snuggle cover more, it held its shape and is bigger, same company. Answer: It is NOT waterproof. As I figured out the hard way when my dog got sick in his crate. Amazon just replaced the bed than Goodness! I ended up going to Walmart and buying a $4 twin size vinyl mattress cover. I put that on the foam, tucked in the extra vinyl and then zipped it all into the white cover. When I inserted it into the bed cover, I made sure the vinyl faced the top of the bed. Wish I knew it was not waterproof before I went through all those issues last week!!!
