Answer:	The syringes have 20 treatments total when .5ml of gel is used per treatment (as stated in the directions). You can apply the gel directly to the teeth with a qtip or brush and put the light in your mouth, but this kit includes a tray that connects to the light

It's not 0.5 mL for bottom and 0.5 mL for top, it comes out to 0.25 mL for bottom and 0.25 for top. Using more won't make it more effective. As long as you're able to cover teeth with a thin film you'll be set.
