Question:	Do these come with batteries
Answer:	No, each LED flare requires 3 AAA batteries, preferably Energizer Max or Duracell Copper Top alkaline. Those are guaranteed not to corrode and can last up to 10 years if not used. Batteries are considered hazardous so including them would require extra paperwork with the postal service and possible delays for inspection, security etc. We keep our prices as low as possible and hope that our customers will apply the savings towards the most reliable batteries. Question:	Why aaa battery (instead of aa, w/much greater capacity)? almost the same size & cost. especially in equipment which may remain idle for years
Answer:	You probably want an answer from a manufacturer, but as a purchaser of these I will answer. 3 AAA batteries are significantly smaller than 3 AA batteries. These disks are a lot larger than I expected, and with 3 AA batteries they would have to be a lot larger. If you use lithium batteries, they'll have adequate power and will sit idle a long time with no issues. I'm very pleased with how these work and hope I dont need to use them.
Question:	Lights just arrived. I've removed both screws from 2 lights and cannot get either open to install batteries. What is the trick to this
Answer:	just pull on the hook, it will pop open. It has a good seal to keep out water.
Question:	Why is the batteries not rechargeable
Answer:	I no longer use alkaline batteries for car flashlights or related lights because they leak and are always dead when I need them to work. Instead, I now use AA or AAA lithium batteries. Lithium batteries cost about two to three time more, but run about 8 times longer in use, work much better in the cold, and will last for 10 years in storage. You can only get 1.5V lithium batteries in AA or AAA sizes. They are not available in C or D size. For D size batteries, I purchase cartridges that are the same size as a D cell and hold three AA lithium batteries. So I intend to use three AAA Lithium batteries for LED flare when they arrive.

Question:	Where do you place the discs? It may not be safe to get outside of your car. Can you stick it to the back windshield
Answer:	We have not had to use them luckily but they are suppose to have a magnet and stick to the side of your vehicle

Answer:	I am not sure of he regulations for the USCG. They are bright enough to be seen for about 1/2 mile (approx) in daylight on a straight line view. That depends on which flash settings you have them on....if it is 360 degree setting it is not quite as far...I have used them 3 times to block lane of traffic when in my private vehicle at an accident scene, off duty cop. People apparently can see them from my estimate as they change lanes at about that distance.

Answer:	I doubt it. Almost certainly a magnesium and oxidizer mixture, with other things to retard the reaction rate.

Answer:	You know what I work for Metro Freeway Service Patrol, we carry 15 minute flares in our tow trucks, one time I was on scene of Fatality on the 10 freeway and the tow trucks flares looked in no good condition and very old with of course water damage, but they still lid up and stayed on so I would say 10 plus years if kept clean and mint condition.

Question:	what is the run time for each mode ? Based on new, fully charged batteries of course
Answer:	I don't know yet. I have used them for several hours and they are still going strong on their first set of batteries. I am a member of the fire police they work as good as flares without the smoke.

Answer:	No. It's 3 AAA batteries in each one ... so 6 total for both.
