Answer:	Re: "Answer - one is a high beam - one is a low beam" answerer is mistaken. The high vs low-beam question depends on the specific vehicle; look it up on Sylvania's site. On one of my cars (2004 Highlander) it's High and on another it's low.Differences between 9005 & 9006:9005 are 65 watt..... 9006 are 55 wattThere is a slight difference in the connector and the mount tabs, but that can be "fixed" with a file. If you try that please be sure the filament is in exactly the same spot on both bulbs; otherwise you could shine LESS light.

Another tidbit for those that do not want to change their own, When I was at Walmart for new Everstart Battery, I noticed they will place in a new headlight for $7.50 each ( headlight bulb is not included in this price). Answer:	Sylvania specifically states their SilverStar Ultra (4100 temp) will NOT blind oncoming motorists. I'm one of those who blinds easily (blue eyed people have more trouble than others) so it matters to me. They do not make that same claim with their SilverStar zXe (4200 temp). The zXe is for people who like the bluish tint and still be street legal, but don't care about oncoming traffic. The Ultra is for people who want the brightest widest lighting but care about others. There is only a 100 temp difference, so I suggest going with the Ultra.PS) Anyone who has brown eyes does not truly understand the pain of blinding headlights, so if someone with brown eyes is telling you get the zXe over the Ultra, don't listen to them, they haven't a clue. The zXe is really only for people who are trying to make their cars look "cool", these are usually men in their 20s.

Answer:	The output light discharge is a bright, clear white. The is no 'blue' color even though there is a blue tint on the bulb. That simply negates the yellowish color we see on most vehicles. This is my second set, replacing standard H4 bulbs. These are so much better!

Answer:	I don't have too much to complain about with these lamps. These lights are even OEM on some cars, so don't worry too much. I have put about 50,000 miles of night time over the road, rural driving on my cars, in the three years since a relative passed away. I liquidated her music store, including the building. I found driving at night shaved 10-30% off the drive time. The brighter and especially the bluer headlamps can and do create excessive glare for oncoming cars. Anything over about 4800-5000 deg Kelvin are obnoxious, over bearing, blinding horrible headlamps. After 4-12 2000 mile round trips per year for 3 1/2 years, I have experienced a lot of night driving in haze, fog, dust, blowing snow, ice fog, rain, sleet, water vapor off wet pavement, swarms of locusts etc. In all honesty a super clean windshield goes much farther toward helping me see at night more than any fancy head lamp bulb. France mandated yellow tinted headlamps from the 1930s until the 1990s when the EU claimed it imposed "restrictive travel conditions on motorists from other EU countries". France has a lot of research papers archived claiming yellow creates less glare. The Dutch did a study and claimed, they found no discenrible difference from untinted, but they were NOT using HID lamps either. The shape of the reflector in the headlight's assembly is what makes the light shine in the pattern it does. Brighter lamps have a very marginal effect on DOT legal headlamps. Pencil beam lamps are used to shine out farther. Those are considered "SPOT LIGHTS", and are illegal for on highway/on any public road use. The color of these is within the range of not creating excessive glare. I prefer more yellow, and am buying an extra pair of headlight buckets (assemblies) for my 4x4, and tinting them yellow for winter, over the mountain passes of The Continental Divide, travel. The truth is, our eyes tend to focus long wave length light on the retina, and short wave length light in front of the retina, rather than on the retina. This focusing in front of the retina is perceived as glare by our nervous system. During daylight our pupils constrict and the short wave length light illuminates everything. Our eyes deal with it quite well. Move the sun down near the horizon, or cover the ground with snow, or light colored sand, and that sunny daylight creates a whole lot of excessive glare, and snow blindness, so why anyone would make headlights with bulb temperatures over 5000 degrees kelvin is a mystery, and it is also, quite frankly, it's just plain ignorant. I see the LED & HID headlights, mostly in the well lit cities. On a remote, rural two lane highway that winds through the back woods, and mountains of northern New Mexico, and Southern Colorado those lights are just plain dangerous. I went over La Manga Pass during the deer and elk migration, on a night with half full moon, and saw 300-500 deer and elk on the highway, or the right of way easement. Deer and elk were everywhere. All I could do was slow down to 0-30 MPH and be very careful. Remember that comment about a super clean windshield. That one is the gospel truth! I have pulled off the road, grabbed the Windex and redone the windows inside an out. I hit a swarm of small locusts one night at about 2:00 AM. A very remote truck stop, north of Springer New Mexico, had a swarm of motorists, and truckers fighting over the squeegees, and paper towels. The locusts, light rain, and road film left blackish grey spots everywhere. I am a retired master electrician, and a live theatrical & sporting event lighting specialist. I very much prefer automation electrical/electronics work to task lighting, but theatrical & film lighting is still a whole lot of fun for a man who enjoys a challenge, and loves to learn new things. Time will tell about some of these cool white 6800 K lights. I hope DOT will step in and put the clamps on stupid automotive lighting. Blue dot tail lights are illegal in some states, so I can only imagine those bright blueish headlights will be on the agenda for regulation, very soon, in some states.
Question:	is the light from these bluer than the standard bulb? (a lot of "white" are actually blue
Answer:	If you read the description, it says that these bulbs have a color temperature of 4100K. When looking at bulbs, the color temperature will range from 2700K which is a yellow light, up 6500K which is the blue light. Natural daylight is around 5300K (Daylight white), so these bulbs still have a touch of yellow to them, but they are much whiter than the standard bulb.
