Answer:	My experience with trying to dim LED lights is that the technology for the dimmers isn't good enough to work properly. My dimmer switch for a bedroom lamp burned out from trying this. Best to use LEDs only for non-dimming purposes, stick with incandescent for dimming. Hopefully this will be changing.

Answer:	Contrary to most opinions here, it has nothing to do with Title 20 - the specs for these bulbs are way above Title 20 requirements. The reason this doesn't ship to CA (while smaller packs of the exact same light bulb do) is because of Proposition 65, related to the cancer warning on the packaging. This SKU doesn't have the warning on the package, while the smaller boxes do. The "lots of dim bulbs in CA" comment was really funny BTW. Maybe they should pass a proposition about that.

Answer:	If you mean the small circular ring - it screws into the lamp base and has a lip on the other end that holds the shade to the lamp base - I don't know the name but I doubt you'll find it at a designer lamp store. You need a real lamp repair shop. The ring may need to be special ordered; it shouldn't be a big deal. Make sure you measure the diameter of the opening in the base and the bottom opening in the shade.

How To Remove The Ballast?

If you replace the traditional metal halide lamps with this LED cob r7s bulbs , please remember to remove/bypass the ballast before installation, otherwise, it will cause the lamps flicker.

1. Ballast has a black and white wire on the input side (120v). It also has two red and two blue output wires. To bypass this ballast cut all 6 wires.

2. You can then connect the two red wires to the black wire.

3. Next, connect the two blue wires to the white wire.

4. For multiple bulb fixtures, just repeat the steps on the other ballasts.

Easy Installation

Step1. Cut off the power supply.

Step2. Remove the lamp socket(s) and BALLAST.

Step3. Choose one installation method suitable for your fixture. Dome(not for 3 inch light engine), junction-box or surface mounting.

Step4. Connect wires, white to white, black to black and ground to ground.

Question:	I will need the long hollow center bolt with a few nuts/washers to retrofit my ceiling fan. Does this come with that? If no, where can i get that
Answer:	Yes it does come with the hollow bolt, and the threaded plate. I'm sorry I cant tell you how long it was, since I used this light for another application.
Question:	Does this require wiring it in or does the kit come with a bulb socket (like a true retrofit kit
Answer:	You replace the old socket with this. Yes you would need to wire in place.
Question:	Can I use a drill to enlarge the center hole? My ceiling fun center rod (nipple?) is .5 in in diameter
Answer:	if you check the dimensional drawing for the fixture the center hole is .51 this = 10/1000 larger then 1/2 " But I have seen many lite fixtures and fans that have this setup is kinda a universal thing the nipple is 1/8 NPS that is what is in the kit. your nipple is .5 which is close in size to the 1/8 NPS I can't say drill the hole out that I would is double check everything it may be easier to just buy a reducer bushing Mr. Teddy B answered on February 5, 2018
