Answer:	The opening stretches but while it would accommodate a 12-oz. drink can or bottle, I’m not sure the opening would take a larger container such as a canister of wipes. Answer:	You could. You will need lots of practice to get good at it. I have a 6 & 1/4 makita for this but the narrower versions like this are really helpful to have and will still work faster than a belt sander. I use a belt sander to finish - evening out all the overlapping grooves once everything is as flat as i can get it. If you are dealing with end grain (like a large stump table), this is about the only way to go as the belt sander moves even slower then.
