Question:	From what I see in the reviews it seems that there is a problem with the cord getting to hot and the tip of it melting.Is there a better quality cord
Answer:	I've had no issues with the cord attached to the cooler itself but I did have an issue with the Schumacher PC-6 120AC to 6A 12V DC Power Converter that I purchased for indoor use. It ran hot and in less than 6 months it died (Amazon graciously allowed me to return it and gave me a full refund). I replaced it with a Wagan 5 Amp AC to 12V DC Power Adapter. While it gets a little warm, it runs much cooler than with the Schumacher adapter. In fact, the Igloo runs quieter and appears to be more efficient with this adapter. That said I think the power source may be the root cause of the issues that others may have with overheating/melting. I run my cooler inside, all day, everyday as it serves as my office refrigerator and I've had it since last November. I love it and will buy another on the sad day planned obsolescence kicks in.
Question:	Why is the larger unit cheaper than the smaller unit
Answer:	Really don't know but I found out that the larger one keeps cooler much longer and at a lower degree.
Question:	What is the power consumption in amps? I'm useing deep cycle batteries, and low amps is a must
Answer:	Working current, battery consumption is between 3.5 to 4.8 Amps according to the owner's operating manual. The current draw is 6 amps maximum at 12-volt DC. I hope this is helpful.

Answer:	I have the same question except I'm wondering if the lid will close with 2-litre soda bottles standing inside. That 13 1/2" height measurment sounds rreeaalllly close to the height of a 2 litre bottle. Has anyone actually tried it?

Question:	How long is the provided power cord that goes in the 12V receptacle? Can you purchase a longer one if needed
Answer:	About 90 inches to the end of the 12V plug (the plug itself is about 4 inches, so I'd subtract that from the distance the cooler can be from the receptacle). I did not look for a longer one, but I did purchase an adapter that would allow you to plug into a standard 120V outlet. The end that goes into the cooler is hardwired, so you couldn't replace it but I'll bet you could by an adapter to extend it.

Answer:	Yes 2 gallons standing and I put 4 lbs of ice just in case, but the ice did not melt

Answer:	As of 2019, I only received the 12 volt plug that goes into the cigarette lighter. I saw more people saying that they received both compared to those only receiving the 12V which comes attached to the cooler. I had to buy the 120 volt cord as I will need that to plug into my solar as my 12 volt power sources do not work.

Answer:	It doesn't matter - you can use the cooler either standing up, like a fridge, in which case the dimensions are 24"tall x 16"wide x 17.25deep, or use it laying down, like an ice chest, in which the dimensions are 17.25"tall x 24"long x 16"wide

Answer:	Read my review of the Coleman Hot/Cold 40 Qt. Had a Coleman from 2000 that finally died due to a design flaw that allowed the fan to bind in the nacelle/ housing. Bought a new one that lasted 10 weeks. Finally got my refund 4 months later. Can't compare it to this one, but some of the other answers here are misleading. This product is not a portable refrigerator. Those have thermostats and use a compressor. Peltier devices are power hogs - about 5% efficient at transferring heat. So, 95% of the heat you feel on the exhaust of these is produced by the Peltier device, not from inside the cooler. Also, some heat is transferred through inefficient insulation. That's why it takes hours to remove heat from the interior of these coolers before you can start using them.
Question:	Does this actually cool to 40 degrees or does it cool to 40 degrees below ambient temperature? That is a huge difference it gets to 100 where I live

Answer:	Yes, unplug it at night if it’s cold. It says it gets to 40F. This is an error. The paperwork says it gets to 40 degrees below ambient temperature. That’s the right answer. So if it’s 80 it gets to 40. If it’s 110 it gets to 70. If it’s 50 it freezes everything. Unplugged it will keep your stuff from freezing though.

Answer:	I have only used it briefly in my car while driving to and from places and it was fine. I use it mostly as my refrigerator at home since mine blew out months ago and I had been using a styrofoam one while awaiting a new refrigerator until this arrived not long ago and I love having cold things now! The ice in the cooler just didn't do the trick every day for over 3 months until I got this! Granted my cold food storage is extremely limited with this small size and it's not for frozen foods or ice only cold items or you can switch to warm also. I like the entire concept! But I would never recommend leaving any electrical plug in item in a vehicle while unattended and the car is not running unless you read your manual for your car. Why? Because I learned the hard way that with my car something as simple as leaving the door and trunk open with the car not running drained the battery! Which seemed like it should not drain a battery but my car said that it would overload the battery if the car was not running so I had to have my battery jumped. Nothing was wrong with my batter it was made that way and the manual stated so which I never read the manual but I know better now and I try to always read the manual for things! Also, I do know that many car batteries and alternators both could possibly be drained by any item plugged in and left running in a car with the motor shut off. There again it depends on if the car were able to generate separately the power to do that if the car were cut off since many are not able. So please be sure to read your car manual to be sure about anything you plug into your car and then you'll know for sure how your car's battery is supposed to function normally with something like this! Answer:	I have been using this every day since I received it as a refrigerator since I don't have one. I live in a hot area and had been using a styrofoam cooler and buying ice each day for months which was not the best answer. I will let you know that there is no way to adjust the temperature on this model. It is preset and the fan/cooling and heating unit is at the top inside the cover. Your vitamins would not be maintained at room temperature. This is a cooler or a warmer. Now it is recommended in their directions as an option I believe for maintaining medications at cool temperatures. So if that is an option for you then you may wish to consider it otherwise you may wish to consider something that has a controllable temperature setting. I hope that you find the correct storage!

Answer:	It keeps the cooler cold if you stop and turn acc feed off. I make 3 or 4 stops 60 to 90 minutes and it keeps lunch and drinks cold.

Answer:	Yes, you can use cooler packs or ice. I use the cooler packs even when using it plugged in. My car accessory plugs do not work when the car is off. So on trips when I stop the cooler packs keep things cool, and don't take up much room in the cooler.

Answer:	I know of no reason you could not, but not sure why you'd want to. The cooler itself is much like any regular cooler, but with the Thermoelectric heat exchanger in the lid. It would not keep ice frozen as it will operate at ~ 40 F below ambient temp. If the ambient temp is 75, it would stay around 35-40F.
