Answer:	Love this product. It uses 40 watts as it runs. From the time it plugged in It took about half a day to freeze ice cubes and using a single deep cycle Battery ran without recharging for three days. I take it camping. As far as I know, any refrigerator or freezer will not run properly in cold weather but you might be safe at 40 degrees. 80 is no problem.

Answer:	Mine runs at about 50 watts when it is running. Once cold it runs for about 3-4 minutes then shuts off for about 22-23 minutes then repeats. Mine is set for economy mode at 4C on my boat down here at Key West Fl. I really like mine as a small fridge. Makes a big difference living on my boat with only solar power to keep the batteries up. With 2 100 watt panels my batteries are charged by 11:00-11:30 in the morning.

Answer:	For anyone interested in current draw, I ran a test over 24 hours with a watt meter. The ambient temp was about 21 C (68 F) and the refrigerator was set to 0 C (32 F). In the 24 hours I opened the unit about 6 times to measure the temperate of items inside with a non-contact thermometer. Temperature of items maintained about 3-4 C. The current draw was just over 12 amps over the 24 hours. This gives an average draw of about .5 amps/hr. This will be higher if the ambient temps are higher of the temp of the unit is lowered.

Answer:	I have a 12 volt system in my over the road truck. I have had no battery issues with mine. It uses a lot less battery power the the thermal electric coolers that I have had in the past. With you set up I really can’t answer that, but running for 2 days on a 12 volt system and still start the truck with no problem you shouldn’t have any.

Answer:	What power source are you using at this time? If household, then check your battery level switch, because it could be set where its top low of voltage. If its plugged in your vehicle, then your battery switch isn't set right or you don't have enough power in your vehicle. If you are using in a car it may not have enough power, because they take a lot of power. We use ours in a big rig with 4 batteries.
Question:	I purchased this a couple months ago and have lost the dc power cord. how do i get a replacement cord
Answer:	You can buy the same power brick from Smitty built as it is the same fridge.
Question:	How many amps per hour does this fridge consume
Answer:	I think on initial startup when it is cooling from 80 degrees down to 30 or 35 I see about 4 amps of draw. Maybe slightly higher. In an ambient temperature environment of 75 degrees, it will run about 30% of the time. On the Eco setting that is it about 2.4 amps so divided that and 3rd and you will get your hourly consumption. I would bet on 20 to 25 amp hours / 24 hour period. I just installed mine on my sailboat last week. I am using a 100 watt flexible solar panel and my batteries are topped off after just three hours of sunlight in the morning. My panel can produce about 5 and 1/2 amps

Question:	From what I see in the reviews it seems that there is a problem with the cord getting to hot and the tip of it melting.Is there a better quality cord
Answer:	I've had no issues with the cord attached to the cooler itself but I did have an issue with the Schumacher PC-6 120AC to 6A 12V DC Power Converter that I purchased for indoor use. It ran hot and in less than 6 months it died (Amazon graciously allowed me to return it and gave me a full refund). I replaced it with a Wagan 5 Amp AC to 12V DC Power Adapter. While it gets a little warm, it runs much cooler than with the Schumacher adapter. In fact, the Igloo runs quieter and appears to be more efficient with this adapter. That said I think the power source may be the root cause of the issues that others may have with overheating/melting. I run my cooler inside, all day, everyday as it serves as my office refrigerator and I've had it since last November. I love it and will buy another on the sad day planned obsolescence kicks in.

Question:	Iceco jp40 or iceco vl45? the vl45 is much heavier and and slightly bigger and has no cover. jp40 has cover. tough choice
Answer:	I have now tested the VL60 without the cover and I did not see any difference in Temp. I set the Unit for 38 Deg during the hot 115 Deg. days for 2 days and the temp held where it was supposed to. It was not in direct sunlight. The drinks were nice and cold. It is still set that way now and has been running for a couple weeks and still keeping temp.

Answer:	Tested the VL45 with my Jackery 250. I will have the Jackery plugged into my truck, and the fridge plugged into the Jackery. Without pre-cooling, it was drawing a lot of power, but not enough to deplete the Jackery while the engine is running. When we are setting up camp, I'll have the Jackery plugged into my 100 w solar panel for continuous power to the fridge.

Answer:	Yes, you can use cooler packs or ice. I use the cooler packs even when using it plugged in. My car accessory plugs do not work when the car is off. So on trips when I stop the cooler packs keep things cool, and don't take up much room in the cooler.

Answer:	I know of no reason you could not, but not sure why you'd want to. The cooler itself is much like any regular cooler, but with the Thermoelectric heat exchanger in the lid. It would not keep ice frozen as it will operate at ~ 40 F below ambient temp. If the ambient temp is 75, it would stay around 35-40F.
