Answer:	If you carry it upright without tilting it or shaking it (such as by the bail handle), and it isn't overfilled, you should be ok. If it will be jostled or tilted like in a backpack, it would be best to carry it empty with a separate fuel bottle. The fuel fonts for this type of lantern are not totally sealed at the top where the wick goes in.

Answer:	I'm sorry but I don't remember which lamp this is. I ordered several sizes of wicks on eBay, very cheap, and use them. The chimneys all came with the lamps I've bought and I don't know about any 'standard' size chimney, especially for the vintage or antique lamps.

Answer:	It doesn't open on it's own, but it doesn't require both hands.Take a look at the picture. The lower handle has a curved piece so that when you open your hand (very similar to scissors) you're pushing that piece back, which opens the "jaws".

Answer:	It comes with a very short wick. It requires a 1" - 1 1/4" wick, which I found very difficult to find in Canada.
Question:	How much wait can it handle
Answer:	If you use the lamp often then the wick won't last as long as if you used it say, only in emergency situations. The wick material constantly sucks up thelamp oil from the bottom of the lamp bowl and if that wick is lit, then of course it's going to burn, wick material and all. I don't know who told you aboutthe wick lasting for years if burned properly. It would depend on how often and how long you burn the lamp and therefore the wick.
