Answer:	I'd think you can, but you'd probably get rust around the welds and where the galvanizing was damaged from the heat. The bolt on option was easy and sturdy. I used 2 stainless bolts and it's worked out great for my gheenoe trailer.

Answer:	I just installed this 2" trailer coupler. I drilled 1/2" holes in my trailer tong. Holes are 1/2" on the coupler. I used 1/2" x 3.5" grade 8 bolts, lock nuts and washers. Fits perfect. 3" bolts were too short to get the lock nut on enough. 3" might fit without the washers.

Answer:	Good luck on drilling bolt holes in this, I wouldn't, nor did I attempt too. For the cost of drill bits I would buy exactly what you are looking for if you want bolt on. Which picture shows no mounting points that's the actual item. Has great safety feature, my buddy had one you were afraid to hurt your fingers and hand , it could have done serious harm , not with this brand . you are in control the whole time and I feel confident that the safety features will keep my off-road trailer attached at all times.

Answer:	it is not made to go inside the channel because of the lip, it goes over a 3" channel. Measure the channel before the tongue, it should be 3" and this will fit over it

Answer:	Mine was painted black on arrival, I don’t know if you can order them unpainted, I doubt it.
Question:	Does this trailer coupler style reduce the noises you would get from a regular trailer hitch
Answer:	Yes, the bolt holes are threaded, you need standard 3/8in. bolts about 1in. long, I put lock washers and nuts on them anyway!!
Question:	Would this still fit an be welded on 3in steel C channel
Answer:	Yes it can. I was first going to weld it on but I didn't have a powerful enough welding machine so I drilled 6 quarter inch holes, two on each side and two on the top. I bought six quarter inch by inch and a half stainless bolts, flat washers, lock washers and nuts and the coupler isn't going anywhere. I use my trailer often and I have no fear that anything will go wrong.
