Answer:	Not sure, because mine had no "Made In..." label on it. Most gemstones like this come from South America, but I am not sure where. Wherever they are from, I love my set! They are a beautiful accent piece.

Answer:	That depends on the kind of books you are going to need them for. For encyclopedias, medical textbooks, or any other type of very large, hardcover book, they might not be heavy enough. For all other kinds, they have worked well.

Answer:	Sandra, My purchase was the Blue Agate Geode bookends measuring 4.5 x 2.3. I don't have anything that will weight them so I compared them to my 2 and 3 lbexercise weights and each is closer to the two lbs. In total I would say together they weigh a little over 4 lbs. Really beautiful, I was pleased but you will still need the steel bookends from the office supply store and set them on each end. It looks like they are holding up the books. Awesome!!
