Answer:	I can’t say for sure but this is the best stuff I’ve found. I use it primary for my shower glass doors; all the automotive use has been easy in comparison to he normal wear and tear of soap scum in a shower.

Answer:	To my knowledge it's just a glass cleaner, never tried it on painted surfaces. If wiped off with a soft cloth before drying I can't see it do much damage to the painted surface other than cleaning but continued use might affect the clear coat and as far as it having a protective benefit I am not sure you will find it using this product. I would advise use this only for glass and use other suitable products made for cleaning/protecting painted automotive surfaces.

Answer:	Ms. Handy: I've been using this product more than 10 years now, and I believe all you are looking at is a difference in labeling/description. The "cleaner and restorer" used to be the name for the original product and it was in a slightly different shaped spray bottle. I purchased the "cleaner, conditioner, and protector" here on Amazon and also through Sportsmans Guide through BoatSavings.com, and it is the same. While it is a great product, it cannot actually "restore" color fading due to sun bleaching of vinyl, so 3M's attorney's were probably encouraging the marketing guys to modify the name so as not to unintentionally mislead. Best product of it's type I have ever used, especially consisdering price and convenience of a one-shot application with a damp terry cloth wash rag.

Before I'd use it as a spray, I'd try it on a small spot; perhaps with a cue tip to test for discoloration . It didn't change the color of our carpet, but a mattress is a different type of fabric. It sure cleans spots on a carpet, though. Excellent product.

Take a look at Wikipedia's article on Scotchguard, however; this is NOT a product that - even after its 2009 re-formulation - one would want next to ones body. There are an abundance of safer products that are both safe and effective at removing these stains. And most cost considerably less than this carpet cleaner.

Answer:	Wash the car with two or three bucket method, run your hand across the paint and if you feel anything bumpy or rough it needs to be claybarred. You can also put your hand inside of a sandwich baggy for a more enhanced feeling of the paint. I claybarred my brand new Shelby gt350 due to rail dust, and my Dodge Durango due to over spray. Both came out beautiful. If you Clay bar it right in new paint you shouldn’t need to polish it. Wax with your favorite wax when done and enjoy the shine.
