The Dritz Sew You dress form allows you to personalize the form to match your body measurements. Simply measure your body and mark the adjustment wheel tapes to make the form sew you! If you want to sew for a friend, simply mark their body measurements in a different color of ink. This color of the form is opal green and is constructed with a nylon foam-backed cover for easy pinning. Dials are located at the bust, waist and hip areas and feature rolling wheels as well as two auto-set dials at front bust and waist. The neck size can be adjusted using the dial located on the neck cap. A pin cushion is conveniently located on the neck cap for easy access to pins. The back waist manually splits using the adjustment knob located inside the form providing up to 2” of additional length. A center pole includes printed markings, and height adjuster for increasing the overall form height and a pin hem marker that can turn 360° for marking hems. The plastic base features four legs to provide even stability.

How To Choose A Dress Form

Dritz dress forms are adjustable so you can personalize the form to match your own measurements. We have three different styles of dress forms for women, one form for a man and one for a young child (male or female). Each has different shapes and features.

Take Your Body Measurements

1. Measure bust over the fullest part.
2. Measure your natural waist – the area where your waistband most comfortably sits.
3. Take your hip measurement 7”-9” below the waistline. This should be the widest part of your hip area.
4. Have your friend measure your back waist length from neck to natural waist.
5. Measure from your waist to the floor. Add this to the back waist length to find the height from neck to floor.
6. Measure from the shoulder to the center of the bust (women).
7. Measure around the base of your neck.
8. Measure the shoulder across the back from side to side.

Adjusting Body Sizes:

• Using the desired body measurements, begin with the bust measurements.
• With one hand hold the body form and with the other hand compress the upper white and lower red indicator together located on the front dial marked “AB”.
• Turn clockwise until the red indicator lines up with bust measurement. Release dial.
• Follow with adjusting waist size(AW) and hip measurement(AH).
• Programme sizes on the back panels from top to bottom and then two sides from top to bottom.

How to adjust waist length?

• To length the torso/waist, notice a black plastic toothed collar covering the white center pole located under the inside skirt of the form.
• Turn the black collar slightly to the left to disengage retainer teeth, pull down until the desired length is obtained, twist collar to the right to re-engage the teeth.
• To return to original height, simply reverse the preceding stage.

Personalising Figures:

To personalise for larger or smaller bust cups or for narrower or wider backs, adjust the four bust dials(AB) to compensate so that their sum total divided by four equals the total bust size.

Example:

(Front 90cm+Side 88cm+Back 94cm)/4 dials=360/4=90cm

Hip measurements may also be costumised by adjusting hip dials(AH)

Neck Adjustment:

Make neck size adjustment after having adjusted body sizes. To adjust, depress and turn the neck dial.Check collar size with a flexible tape measure.

Setting the hemline gauge:

• With the hem gauge bar in the horizontal position, disengage the center collar retaining clip.
• Slide the collar up or down until the top of the collar lines up with the requires height.
• Engage the center collar retaining clip.
• For full or flared hemlines, place the dress on the dress form inside out or turn the hem up to face.

Dritz dress forms are adjustable so you can personalize the form to match your own measurements. We have three different styles of dress forms for women, one form for a man and one for a young child (male or female). Each has different shapes and features.

Take Your Body Measurements

1. Measure bust over the fullest part.
2. Measure your natural waist – the area where your waistband most comfortably sits.
3. Take your hip measurement 7”-9” below the waistline. This should be the widest part of your hip area.
4. Have your friend measure your back waist length from neck to natural waist.
5. Measure from your waist to the floor. Add this to the back waist length to find the height from neck to floor.
6. Measure from the shoulder to the center of the bust (women).
7. Measure around the base of your neck.
8. Measure the shoulder across the back from side to side.

The Dritz My Double Designer Dress Forms help you fashion a double of your body providing you with professional looking garments. Use the form to audition fabrics and test the drape and overall look and feel before you start your project. The form is ideal for checking the fit of your pattern tissues and garment test muslin. The form assists with modifications and alterations to both new construction and ready-to-wear clothing that requires modifications. A cappuccino colored cover provides a neutral work surface that will showcase your fabrics. The cotton/polyester fabric has a foam backing that can be pinned into at an angle. The form includes 12 soft-grip rolling wheels at the bust, waist, and hip areas. A slight turn of the wheel allows you to achieve precise measurement increments for a customized form that matches your exact body measurements. The neck can be adjusted and increased in size by using the decorative wood finial at the top of the neck. If you have a long back waist length, the form can be adjusted by using the convenient knob located on the neck. Turning the knob will automatically split the form at the waist and hip area providing up to 2” of extra length. When working with blouses, tops, shirts, and jackets, the extended shoulders assists and support proper setting in of the sleeves. The form comes with two pole placements. The center pole is used for fitting and hanging tops, blouses, shirts, jackets, coats, skirts, dresses, and gowns. The off-set pole with shaped hips and crotch area supports the design and fitting of pants. The height of the form is adjustable allowing you to match your shoulder to floor measurement.
