Answer:	Yes, it can cut carpet, but the blades won't last very long. And, you'd probably be better using the 65mm style and blades. Still, there are probably better options for carpet.

Answer:	I don't see why not. It's extremely sharp. It cuts denim and that's hard to cut. So silk shouldn't be a problem.

Answer:	It will work but it plays havoc with the blade if using it on multiple layers, however the cut is quite nice
Question:	I've seen lots of "cut and press" boards that look like this cutting board. Can I iron fabric on this board as well
Answer:	I don't believe there is a warranty. The Olfa is made of plastic and seems durable. I researched Olfa before I bought it and it is supposed to be the most comfortable, durable and long lasting. More so than Fiscars. I would buy it again.
Question:	does any one know if this can be used by lefties
Answer:	I have never tried to cut leather but I can cut through many layers of fabric at one time. The blade is very, very sharp. In fact I bought this product because it automatically retracts when finished cutting. Blades are so sharp that just a touch results in a cut finger.
Question:	I do not do any fabric crafts, but could this set be used easily for precision paper cutting
Answer:	Go with the 60mm. Better to have more and never need it, than buy less and need the upgrade. We needed to cut a carpet with a 2 in pile. I bought the 45mm, and it did work, but was very difficult, took longer, and I was wishing I had bought the 60mm the entire time!

Answer:	Dear customer, you can stick the little white rubber circles on the back of the acrylic ruler. This way, the acrylic ruler stays in position very well while you cut the fabric. You may put the little rubber circles close to the corners and in the middle of the ruler. Hope that helps.

Answer:	There is an orange slider button on the top. You push this forward to expose the blade. You don't have to hold it there--it automatically locks in the "use" position. You can hear it click. Before you lay it down, press the small orange dot on the left side to put the put the blade in the "safe" position. If you think "razor blade" that will give you an indication how sharp the blade is and why you don't lay it down with the blade exposed.

Answer:	Yes, that's what Amazon says . martello blades work in Olfa, Fiskars & Clover brand cutters. That's nice to know. I'm glad they will work , I have Olfa, Fiskars and just bought Martello cutter a few days ago, and I really like the way it fills in my hand. Less stress.
Question:	Will this work with thin fabrics? Or do I need to get a smaller size
Answer:	They are available online, just search for them. Any 60 mm blade will work in your Martelli cutter. The same is true of the smaller one... the blades are compatible with other blades the same size for the Martelli. Can't say for sure about other brands of cutters.
Question:	Will these fit an Olfa 45mm cutter
Answer:	Yep, and it will NOT work. This version of the Martelli cutter uses a blade with a smooth circle in the middle, not the notched like the Olfa. The earlier Martelli cutters did use the usual notched blades, but not the new one. I don't know if there is a "model" # or something like that to tell the difference between the old and the new versions. That said, I wouldn't be able to cut fabric if I used anything else, so I switched to the smooth circle blades. :)

Answer:	No, it is for fabric and will not cut wood. What I would recommend for you is a small Dremil. Not sure of the spelling, but it is a great hand held small tool that you can purchase multiple different attachments for all types of crafting and repairs. Available at Lowe’s, Home Depot and maybe on Amazon.
Question:	Are these the right size blades for the cutter
Answer:	This only comes with 1 blade. You may buy extra replacement blades separately.
Question:	Is there a rotary blade that will create a dotted stripe for folding or tearing
Answer:	It is normal to oil the rotary cutter. Some might have coated the blade. Warm soapy water as it is sewing machine oil and wipe off several times with a cloth. Several practice cuts on muslin should do the trick. Carefully remove the blade. Clean any lint build-up on the blade & the handle. Put a drop of sewing machine oil around the center of the blade before reassembling.
Question:	will they fit a gingher rotary cutter
Answer:	If you mean cutting them up for rags, yes; if you mean cutting out T-shirts to sew, not so much. I don't like cutting curves with my rotary cutter, but I know people who do.

Answer:	They fit both of my 45mm Olfa rotary cutters .

Answer:	In my opinion they are equal to the Olfa brand. I do a fair amount of cutting and this blade is going strong. I'm sure it just depends on what you cut and how frequently you change your blades. I sometimes have a bad habit of not changing my blades as often as recommended. But this hasn't been an issue. I've trimmed a quilt, with 100% cotton batting as well as the binding. Cut out the pieces for a twin log cabin quilt and made two sets of pot holders with insul bright. No problems. How To Replace The Blade

• 1. Hold your rotary cutter by the handle in your non-dominant hand with the blade cover in place so the blade is not active.
• 2. Unscrew the bolt and the small curved disk and set aside.
• 3. Turn the cutter back over and remove the button that says 45mm.
• 4. Remove the disk blade, set aside, and put a new one on.
• 5. Replace the 45mm button, putting the post through the new blade and cutter, and put your index finger back onto the button to hold it in place while you turn the cutter over one more time.
