Answer:	It will work but it plays havoc with the blade if using it on multiple layers, however the cut is quite nice

Answer:	I don't believe there is a warranty. The Olfa is made of plastic and seems durable. I researched Olfa before I bought it and it is supposed to be the most comfortable, durable and long lasting. More so than Fiscars. I would buy it again.
Question:	does any one know if this can be used by lefties
Answer:	I have never tried to cut leather but I can cut through many layers of fabric at one time. The blade is very, very sharp. In fact I bought this product because it automatically retracts when finished cutting. Blades are so sharp that just a touch results in a cut finger.
Question:	I do not do any fabric crafts, but could this set be used easily for precision paper cutting
Answer:	Go with the 60mm. Better to have more and never need it, than buy less and need the upgrade. We needed to cut a carpet with a 2 in pile. I bought the 45mm, and it did work, but was very difficult, took longer, and I was wishing I had bought the 60mm the entire time!

Question:	I had an Olfa cutting mat and the smell of the mat was present after 1 week. How does this mat compare? Any special tricks used to fight this
Answer:	there wasn't a label that came with my mat, it came packaged in a plastic bag with a bar code on it. This mat isn't one of the gel top mats though, if that's the kind you're worried about.

Answer:	It depends on the age of the wood. Modern dimension lumber is 1-1/2 inches thick; old lumber is 1-5/8 thick . The clamp needs to be able to open at least 3 inches or 3-1/4 inches and a little more to make the job easy.

Answer:	I really don't know the difference. I have the model 2229 it's a double suction cup. I do know it is larger and has a real handle on it.

Answer:	The smallest straight ruler this would accommodate is a 4" x 12" . If you position it diagonally, you can use it on a square ruler as small as 9.5"

Answer:	I have a 3 x 18 ruler and place it on the ruler so the cups are out of the way for the rotary cutter, the rubber of the cups will keep the ruler in place while holding it down but the suction part will not work.

Answer:	I'm not familiar with the original Gypsy Gripper. The omni gripper is ok and does the job however the suction cups do not stay suctioned. It worked great for about 2 weeks and then it got to the point where every time I need to use it I'm having to resuction it to the omni ruler. I'm not sure I would recommend it but it does save my fingers from being cut. I hope this helps.

Answer:	You would think that some genius clamp maker somewhere on this planet would figure out "it might be convenient to glue a couple of 2x's together, so let's make the opening about 3-1/4" wide. But no. No one seems to offer any opening other than 2-3/4". In metric, that's 70mm. Why not 100mm (4")? Nope. No such thing.

Bessey products were originally made only in Germany, but recently some of their production has moved to China. With no country of origin stamped on the metal itself, I cannot identify where it was made.

Question:	Is this manufactured in the USA
Answer:	Yes. The intent is that you can use the purple side when cutting light colored fabric, and the yellow side when cutting darker fabric. The contrast makes it easier to see what you’re doing.

Question:	Is this food safe to cut fondant on
Answer:	On one side, when opened, is a 12x18 self healing mat. The other side is a protected ironing surface. Each side is a 12x18 surface when opened.
Question:	Would you recommend using this as a surface for water based paints? Just wondering if watercolor paints and acrylic paints wash off of it
Answer:	I will double check that the mat is 60” end-to-end, then get back to you.
Question:	How thick is this mat
Answer:	It’s standard mat thickness. I’ve always bought Olfa, but this is comparable. Ordered this to fit my table and I am extremely pleased with it.

Answer:	I’m not sure but I can’t see why not

Question:	Is it translucent, which is to say, can it be used on a lightbox
Answer:	Probably not since one side has metric measurements and the other side has US measurements. But my wife says this is the best cutting mat she has ever had.
Question:	Does this product smell bad when it arrives? Is there off-gassing similar to other cutting mats on the market
Answer:	Great question. YES it can fold over back to back to allow the option of using either the cutting or ironing mat only while still being 12x18". It's a very convenient option.
Question:	I saw this mat in a store & it seems harder than other mats. Anyone notice that their rotary cutter blades are wearing out faster
Answer:	I would not pin into the pad for ironing, it would cause tears quicker in the pad
Question:	Are the Sullivans Cutting Mats 'self healing' after cutting material on them with a rotary cutter like the OLFAs, Fiskars, Alvins are? I can't find any product info on them for this. Thanks & Regards
Answer:	Not sure if you are talking about blocking for crochet or squaring off a block in quilting, but it should work either way
