Cleaning Tips

Cleaning the GO! Big Electric Fabric Cutter is a breeze! To clean the cutter inside and out, use a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasives, solvents and any spray cleaners. If necessary, wipe with a very damp cloth, then polish the machine with a dry cloth. Use canned air to clear lint from the roller area. For best results and easy use, it’s important to always keep your cutter clean and lint free.

Place

Cutting fabric has never been easier! Our GO! Big Electric Fabric Cutter Starter Set can accurately cut up to six layers of fabric at one time while maintaining maximum efficiency. To get started, layer the die, fabric and cutting mat together. To ensure you produce the most accurate cuts during your next project, be sure the die is layered foam side up and the fabric is placed on the lengthwise grain. Our two-tone foam makes aligning the fabric over your desired shape not only easy, but it also allows you to conserve fabric.

Press

Once your fabric is properly aligned, push the die, fabric and mat firmly along the roller and roll the fabric through the cutter. In order to conserve your favorite fabric, cover only the shape that needs to be cut and not the entire die board.

Done!

Answer:	I don’t regret buying it from Amazon. The package deal was the same as the quilt store, but they were out. I haven’t heard anyone complaining about the does not being sharp.
Question:	How long does the mat last? Also, are there any other additional parts or replacements needed as time and wear continue
Answer:	One of my mats was slightly warped, placed it flat with a heavy book on it and the next day it was fine.
Question:	how long does the accuquilt stay sharp and what do you do when it gets dull
Answer:	No, it's very easy. 6 layers of fabrics is the maximum layers and if it's too hard for you to turn the handle cut less layers. That's what I do.

Answer:	you can use any pattern you have and create a block with any of the Accuquilt GO dies. Let your imagination run. There are so many GO Books out there with many patterns. The 8" Qube comes with a 4" finished square, a 2" finished square, half square triangle 4" finished, quarter square trianglew 4" finished, half square trinagle 2" finished, square on oint 2 3/4" finished, parallelogram 45 degree and the retangle 2 x 4 finished. Question:	I purchased the fiskars die-cut & letter press machine, fuse creativity system. it says has a 12 inch width, will these dies work in this machine
Answer:	The die board is 10" x 10". I believe the Fiskars system is compatible with other dies. The Accuquilt dies are similar to Sizzix dies, in the respect to thickness. That is the important part and if it says compatible, then yes, you could use Accuquilt dies.

Answer:	10x10 dies are too wide for the Go Baby. You need a Go for this one! The Go Baby takes the 6" wide dies.

Answer:	No, it has a pattern for the wall hanging. But, on the Accuquilt site there is a chart that tells you the strip width needed per die, and how many pieces you will get out of that 44/45" strip. You can extrapolate from there. http://www.accuquilt.com/go-reference-chart Easiest is if you can find someone with Electric Quilt software and call up a 5 segment arc double wedding ring quilt, make it the size you want (block repeat 11 1/2" for Go! per Accuquilt's instructions), and it will tell you how much of each fabric you need.

Question:	How long should the cutting mat last? Mine is less than a year old and I am using the 2.5 strip die. The mat it already breaking along the cut lines
Answer:	Mine did too. I found I was try to cut to many layers of fabric at once. I only cut 4 layers and move the mat around just enough to get off the lines it creates in the mat. I have have cut hundreds of stripes. They will wear out.

Answer:	It will not fit on the Sizzix big shot because the die is too wide.

Answer:	Yes, It cuts 12 1.5" strips of various lengths to make a complete log cabin square up to 12" finished.
Question:	Please what is the size of the strips
Answer:	The width of each strip is 1.5" cut and the they start at 1.5" long, with the longest strip being 1.5" wide x 12.5" long. Be aware that when feeding the fabric through with the lengthwise grain passing through first, as suggested, that there is some instability in the fabric's stretch, and even tightly woven fabrics may end up 1/8" too short. I'm not sure why they want you to feed fabric through the same way as the strip cutters, because length-wise cuts tend to draw up about 1/8" per cut.

Question:	Can a cutting mat for cricut or scan-n-cut be used with the accuquilt
Answer:	Absolutely NO! that mat is not thick enough for scan-n-cut!
Question:	Can I use this with a 10 X 10 die
Answer:	The product about which you're asking appears the 6" mat itself, which is made specifically for the 6" Go-Baby. A 10x10 die is for a larger cutter, and likely not work in a smaller cutter, obviously because there would not be enough room for it to go through the cutter. As the other response said, a smaller die could work in a larger cutter.
Question:	does it really cut material well
Answer:	I gave the acuquilt go to my wife for Christmas. It is one of the best gifts I've ever given her. She has made 3 quilts 1 with the 3" tumbler, 1 with 5"block and and now 1 with 3" triangle. Plus she's making Christmas ball decorations to give to family and friends. She has really enjoyed everything about the acuquilt go. I hope this helps. And yes you do need the mat. It helps with clean cuts.
Question:	When I cut out strips they all are bowed in the middle why
Answer:	If you are folding fabric to cut width-of-fabric (WOF) strips, then you need to lay the fold to be an exact 90 degree angle to the blade. This same rule applies to cutting WOF strips with a 24" long ruler. I use a ruler and a silver Sharpie and draw line across the die near where the blades end to use as a guide to place the fold of the fabric for cutting. I noticed in a number of Youtube videos about strip cutting folks also use black tape to mark the 90 degree angle. I use this mark as a guide for laying the fold on the die. I try to be as exact as possible. I also start the cut on the end where the fold lays so that it stays as exact to my line as possible. You should also stop every 6"-8" and smooth out the fabric and make certain no folds appear which can also cause problems. There are a number of Youtube videos demonstrating using the strip dies and how to mark the angles on the die. The strip die is very useful for cutting squares as well. The videos cover both.
