I believe its a type of felt. its stiffer then my daughters felt blanket. it feels like felt. there is no tag on the material and everything is in Chinese on the package. the size fully open is 31" high and 48" long. I use it folded. Ive always used a dark cloth before more of a synthetic suede, I love and hate the light material. its bright behind the rice paper giving a bright feel to your work while you work, however the soot stains will eventually show. but then again my black cloth has all kinds of color paint stains. its hard to keep a work space emasculate.
