I thread it through for smaller projects such as the petal of a crocheted flower, or I don't thread it through the lid. Yes, it stands on its own and is very roomy for project, yarn scissors, crochet hook organizer, etc. It has several pockets on the inside and the outside to keep things easily organized and accessible. I love that I can be working on a project at home and at anytime zip up my bag and take the whole thing with me. A yarn bowl would not provide the convenience of having all my tools in one place. Plus, it's REALLY cute!! |

| Answer: | If I were doing that I would put each color in an open zip lock bag and work my project with the storage bag open. Any time you work with multiple colors they want to "talk" to each other and you have to stop now and then and separate them, having them in the plastic bags make that easier. There is a lot of room in these bags!I got a blue and a red..like blue the best....waiting for a teal or turquoise choice. These are also light-weight but sturdy. I would like a dozen. |
