Answer:	Each dye works for about 1lb of clothing. Dying something black can make things around dye too. I used a bucket in the garage to dye some trousers I had and they came out very well. Wear rubber gloves or you will have black hands. These dyes are very good and will work well. Also, make sure the article is wet before you put it into the dye bath. If you are uncertain about the weight of clothing try using two packets of the dye as that will guarantee the blackest black you can get. Also, wash separately for quite a few washes as excess dye will leach out for a little while. Each time I have washed a dyed article I rinsed it with salt in the water. The salt will seal the dye better.

Answer:	I know this about 8 months late, but I'm answering it anyway for anybody else who might want to know.DIRECTIONS FOR TOP LOADING MACHINES:1. Prewash fabric and leave damp.2. Set machine to longest wash cycle, hot water & lowest water level to cover fabric. Start cycle.3. When machine is full, use rubber gloves and add dye and 4 cups of salt. Close lid and allow to agitate for 1 min. Add fabric and allow wash cycle to finish. Before dye solution has drained, restart machine to beginning of cycle to ensure fabric is in dye for at least 30 minutes. Allow cycle to finish.4. Leave fabric in machine and add detergent. Run full wash cycle to remove excess dye. Additional rinse cycles may be necessary. 5. Line dry fabric away from sunlight and direct heat.6. To clean machine -- add 1 cup of bleach and detergent and run longest hot water cycle with machine empty. Wipe machine surfaces with a bleach solution.COLOR SHADE:The shade you achieve depends on water/dye ratio, fabric amount, type, and color. 1 lb of fabric per 1 package (100 gram package) should achieve full color.Lighter shades will result on fabrics with polyester blends.Color mixing rules apply. Answer:	Just to be safe, I always wash alone for the first few washes. After that, I haven't had any problems with color bleed.

Answer:	color results are about same using coloring directions; i've found at least 2-3 additional dye packs to most formulas give deeper blacks.

Answer:	Hi Maureen, in general all cotton dyes well. White fabric to Black dye produces a good outcome. I add distilled White vinegar and Epsom salts in HOT water with the dye. Let the garment soak 2 or 3 times longer than the directions call for. Use more dye to insure a deep Black color. I hope that helps!

Answer:	I contacted the manufacturer regarding this and was told that this is a fabric reactive dye and most likely the reacted in that manner with the type of fabric used. Another cause that I believe may have effected the dye's reaction would be if the fabric was pre-washed using any fabric softener (this would cause the dye to react differently), as well as minerals in the water.

Answer:	The premeasured dyes are already in the bottle for you. Just add Water! This is fantastic kit! I have used them for many occasions. dye sets great.. does not fade or bleed on my laundry. Question:	The instructions say to "add water to dye bottle, filling to line." But my 16 oz bottles have no fill line. How much water am I supposed to put in
Answer:	I used both a wet and a dry application of the dye. I love the bright colors of the dry method, but also love the way just dampening the fabric slightly allow the colors to blend a bit more. The color stays bright, but I always wash separately, in hot water the first few times I wash a new project.

When I dye, I do child and adult sizes together; if you are doing only adult sizes, 15-20 would be a more reasonable expectation depending on whether you are doing mostly M or mostly 2XL.

Answer:	As for the items which dyed with our tie dye kit,we kindky suggest washing them separately for the first few times, and then you can try to wash it together with the clothes of similar color. Besides, soaking in salt would be helpful for color fixation when washing for the first time.

Answer:	The instructions say to use within 45 min or the color starts to loose its concentration and will result in weaker color intensity
Question:	I'm planning to dye a bunch of pillow cases- can I wash them all together or does it have to be one at a time
Answer:	I would make sure that your fabric is as close to 100% cotton as possible. You shouldn’t have to soak the fabric in soda ash before using this brand of dye, so if it washed out, I’d check the cotton % of your fabric. It should be at LEAST 50% but I’d aim for 80-100% cotton. You could also let the dye soaked fabric sit longer before you wash.

Answer:	I have done about 7 shirts so far with still more then half a bottles worth of dye for all the bottles. So to answer the question about 15 -20 shirts. You can also do socks, towels, hats and a lot more if you don't have a lot of dye leftMadeleine age 11

Answer:	No. They do not fluoresce.
Question:	Is this the biggest kit they sell
Answer:	It can be all together but I recommend using a color grabbing sheet, which can be found at any grocery or target/Walmart type store. This sheet will help to absorb excess color. I have used this dye many times without issue. But, one time I had a child send in a teeshirt that was made of a syntentic material and that shirt bleed all its colors onto the other shirts. While the shirts still came out excellent they were not the colors intended. However if you are 100% certain you are using the correct fabric then you can wash them together without issue.
