| Answer: | First of all, be very sure you have the clean buckets, ability to fully mix the resin and hardener, and that it is not the type that will generate a fast amount of heat and destroy whatever your going to make or cast. The amount depends on the effect you want. Start at 2 oz. for the gallon to get a thin, almost starry visual field. Every oz. after that will simply make your gallon more opaque. I suggest test your ratios with three, 1/2 pint of mixed epoxy resin and a 1/4 teaspoon for one, 1/2 teaspoon for the second, and 3/4 or a full teaspoon for the third. Let it harden as a spread surface or as a volume in a container and see what you like. Go from there. |

| Answer: | I have used this in CP soap, HP soap, Liquid Soap, Melt n Pours, Bath Bombs/bubble bath, and candles. In CP or HP I disperse in Almond Oil or Vitamin E Oil and experience a little loss off color saturation. I usually wisk these in just before pouring/molding. HP tends to take a little doing to work them in, but worth it. Liquid Soap is just before bottling batch. Melt n Pours are the same as liquid soap. Seems extreme heat discolors and kills desired results so I wait until 90-100 ranges prior to adding them. Bombs I use Polysorbate 80 to help keep 'tub ring' from forming and keep in mind it will go pastel due to the whiteness of batch. Candles are treated like soaps and added at cooler levels. | Answer: | Yes, you can use our micas in whipped soap! We suggest mixing the mica powder with a lightweight oil (i.e Grapeseed, Jojoba, etc.) before adding to the rest of your recipe. If you are making a "Unicorn" or Rainbow style whipped soap, you can divide your soap into bowls and add then a 1/2 teaspoon of each mica color dispersed in oil to each bowl before whipping. | Answer: | Yes! When adding pigment, start with a small amount, then add more as needed to achieve your desired color. The color of the mix when wet should be pretty close to the color when dry. | Answer: | We do not recommend using mica powder, or any powdered colorant, for coloring candles as the powder may clog the wick. You can, however, use mica powder to color wax melts, since there is no wick in this case. Another option would be to use mica powder to decorate the outside of your candles! After your candle is created, you can apply your choice of Mod Podge or Spray Adhesive to the exterior of your candle – either all over the candle, or in your chosen design. While the glue is still tacky, sprinkle with mica powder while turning the candle until the candle is covered. Let dry before use. We hope this helps. Dibble Dabble |
