Question:	Does this work well to apply on a substrate (acrylic) , engrave, and then paint the engraved areas? Without having the paint bleed underneath paper
Answer:	I use this with my Silhouette Cameo vinyl cutter to mask and transfer the vinyl to a substrate. It doesn't have the adhesive other transfer tapes have, making it easier to separate from the vinyl. I'm not sure how well the engraving process would go. Does the engraver use a blade? If so, you should be able to remove the engraved areas alright. As far as paint bleeding, I don't know what type of paint you use. A simple craft acrylic might do OK.

■Step 1 – clean the entire countertop with your choice of cleaner .

■Step 2 – Measure and cut out the length of contact paper you need. If the width is not enough, don’t worry, you can later overlap and cover the remaining area.

■Step 3 – Slowly peel the backing little by little with one hand and smooth out the bubbles with the credit card as you go. If there is too much air trapped you can always lift the contact paper back up and smooth it again.

■Step 4 – Repeat the process for any other areas that were not covered. Just overlap the contact paper slightly on the edges. You might have to roughly match up the pattern.

■Step 5 – Use the precision knife to cut excess.

■Step 6 – Admire your beautiful “new” countertops.

Personally, I'd refrain from applying the marble pattern to an uneven surface which may fail aesthetically and may not stick. As a side note, if the popcorn effect was a spray on, I have scraped it down with a putty knife (or similar tool) before for other purposes and this may work for you. Hope this helps.
