9 best pliers with concaves

Pliers with concaves, often referred to as concave pliers, are specialized tools used in jewelry making, particularly in the field of wire wrapping and forming. Here are some key points about these pliers:

  1. Design and Purpose: Pliers with concaves have jaws that are designed with a concave or rounded shape. This design allows them to create curves and shapes in wire without leaving any flat spots. They are especially useful for making loops, spirals, and other rounded elements in jewelry.

  2. Wire Forming: These pliers are commonly used in wire forming processes where precision and control over the shape of the wire are crucial. Jewelry artisans use concave pliers to create consistent and smooth curves in various gauges of wire.

  3. Materials and Construction: High-quality concave pliers for jewelry making are typically made from durable materials such as stainless steel. The jaws are carefully crafted to provide a smooth and even surface, ensuring that the wire is shaped without any marks or indentations.

  4. Versatility: While they are commonly associated with wire work, concave pliers can also be used for other jewelry-making tasks. For example, they may be employed in bending and shaping sheet metal for certain designs.

  5. Types of Concave Pliers: There are different types of concave pliers available, including round-nose concave pliers and chain-nose concave pliers. The choice of which type to use depends on the specific task and the desired result.

  6. Usage in Beading and Arts & Crafts: Besides jewelry making, these pliers may also find applications in beading projects and various arts and crafts where precise wire shaping is required.

When working with concave pliers, it's essential to practice on scrap wire to get a feel for the tool and to achieve the desired shapes. Additionally, proper care and maintenance of the pliers, such as keeping the jaws clean and avoiding excessive force, will contribute to their longevity and effectiveness in jewelry making.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you use to make rings
Answer: I doubt you could use them to make rings, they are good for making small circles of wire for necklaces or bracelets, the curve created is too small for a finger sized ring.
Question: will this work on memory wire
Answer: Personally, I don't think it would be wise. I don't think it would cause permanent damage, but I'd be a little leary, since memory wire is so hard. Although, if you're just making a loop on the end of the wire if you're making a bracelet or something, I don't think it would hurt. Just not for major projects.
Question: Us ring sizes
Answer: Sorry don't understand the question. I use it to make tiny jump rings to make jewelry, but don't know the different sizes. I would refer to the info provided with the pliers. I also use it to make loops for various beads for earrings, necklaces, etc.
Question: Whats the diameter
Answer: Four different diameters, from about 1/16 to about 1/4 inch

Eurotoolå¨ Wire Looping Pliers. 3-step Round / Concave. Great For Wire Wrapping. Box jointed 3-step wire looping pliers from EUROTOOL with concave lower jaw. Easy to use, and give you perfect results when repetitive wire loop-making, and they are strong enough for making the finishing loops in heavy memory wire. One side of the nose is a three stepped round nose shape, and the other side is a concave shape that bends your wire in a perfect half-circle around the 'nose'. Simply move the pliers one or two more times around, and you will have a complete circle. Then use these pliers to gently yet securely grip your loop in one of your hands, while you use your other hand and some chain nose pliers to wrap the end of your wire around the base of the loop. Because these sturdy pliers do the actual pressing on the wire, you can loop tough memory wire with a couple of firm squeezes. NOTE: Suitable for wire thicknesses up to 18 Gauge. User questions & answers

Question: I need to make loops in #16 brass wire for Whirligigs. Will this tool handle that size wire
Answer: There are two listings with 24-105mm lenses included in these comments and questions. One is the 6D Mark II plus the EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS II USM. It is an "L" lens. It is listed above as the "24-105mm USM kit" The other is the camera plus the EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM. It is not an "L" lens. It is listed above as the "24-105mm STM kit"
Question: What size are the loops and is that radius, diameter, or circumference
Answer: It depends on the lens. If it is an EF lens it will work. If it is an EF-S lens it will not. An easy way to tell is to look at the mark on the lens that you use to line it up with the camera. If it is white, then it will not work. If it is red, it will. As a side note, I would guess just from the nature of this question that maybe you don't need a camera of this level just yet. If you don't know how to tell what lenses fit on a system, then I feel that you are not in need of such an expensive camera. Keep in mind too, that a full frame camera is more than a commitment to a body, but also a commitment to a much more expensive lens set. EF lenses are almost always more expensive than the EF-S lenses, and rightfully so. Not trying to be a dick, just being honest. My honesty however, always comes with a suggestion.I would suggest putting this money into a better lens set, since the same lenses that can fit on a full frame camera like the 6D will also fit on your rebel. Instead of dropping 2000 dollars on a body, and then another 1000 (or more) on a lens, get some things from this list instead…1. EF 70-200mm USM – There are 4 versions of this lens. I would suggest either the F4 IS version, or one of the F2.8 versions. The F4 IS is great for nature shots and can do portraits pretty well too, and has superior level glass, and is 1150 USD. The F2.8 without IS is a great bargain at 1250 USD, since it gives you low light abilities in one of the sharpest lenses Canon makes. If you are going to shoot a lot of high shutter speed action, then IS is not needed. It also doubles as a portrait lens, giving the ever coveted bokeh effect. The F2.8 IS is the ultimate lens, probably Canon’s best lens, but is 1950 USD. I would suggest the F4 IS version if you are not sure which you need. If it turns out you need the better aperture of the F2.8, then you can sell the F4 IS for about 1000 bucks, as these lenses hold their value very well.2. EF 100mm F2.8 Macro USM – There are two versions of this lens, one with and one without IS. The non-IS version is great, and a lot of pros have it in their bag, and is 600 USD. The IS version is about the same lens, just with IS, for 800 USD.3. EF 50mm F1.8 STM – A very affordable and sharp and fast lens, often called the nifty 50. For 125 USD, you can’t beat this lens. If you can afford it, the EF 50mm F1.4 USM is a better lens for 300-350 USD.4. EF 70-300mm F4-5.6 IS ii USM – A great lens, with good image quality, this is also on the more affordable plain at 500 USD. All these lenses are compatible with your Rebel camera, and all of them add a higher level of quality to your photos. And best of all, all of them are compatible with the 6D. I would say get one or more of these lenses first and push that Rebel as far as you can. Then, you can get a full frame camera, and you will already have a lens set you can put on it. The way I see it, it is always better to get a better lens now and a new body later (except in some very specific situations). After all, a new lens will give you better images, a new body just adds new features that don’t really improve your images that much, if at all.
Question: How useful are these for wire-wrapped loops
Answer: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very wide return and repair policy. All shipping is pre-paid and FedEx will pickup the HAMMER 88 right from your front door.
Question: What are the inside sizes of the loops made
Answer: Yes a 6’? 8’? usb cable. I needed a longer one but it’s quite usable. It’s basically a printer USB cable. No power supply needed. USB supplies all needed power.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the size range from tip to wide
Answer: Canon 6D Mark II has built in Digital Image Stablization.
Question: What are the smallest and largest diameter loops that you can make
Answer: Tough question, going to shotgun you some thoughts…1. The lens is a bigger factor for IQ – Just a basic statement, but it is true. The lens is a bigger factor for IQ and overall contrast and color than the body. The 6D is a full frame though, and that has certain advantages in low light. The crop sensor 80D however has advantages for shooting wildlife and sports, since you are likely to crop those images anyway. It comes down to what you shoot the most.2. Full frame is a full commitment – When you ask, “Is it worth the extra cost?” What I hear is, “the 80D is 1100 and the 6D is 2000.” But really, the 6D is a lot more expensive than that once you factor the cost of lenses. Let’s say you want a telephoto, a wide angle, a prime, and a standard zoom (basic lens set). For the 80D, that is likely going to be the 55-250mm, the 10-18mm, the 50mm F1.8 (or 24mm F2.8), and the 18-55mm kit lens. Total cost is around 1975 USD. Since none of those lenses can fit on a 6D (well, the 50mm can), that means you are left only with the much more expensive EF lenses. Let’s go with the 70-200mm F4 IS, 16-35mm F4 IS, 50mm F1.8, and the 24-105 STM. That is 3875 USD, and while those are mostly really good lenses, each of them will also fit on the 80D, or any APS-C camera, for a lower overall cost. And while you could just get the base body and the kit lens and call it a day, that is not only also a considerable difference in price (1250 vs 2600), but will produce roughly the same quality of images. So I would ask, why bother with the more expensive camera at that point? If you went with the 80D, you can get more lenses with the money you save, which as I already pointed out makes a much bigger difference in IQ than the bodies do.3. Do you need low light performance? - The 6D is better in low light, but the 80D is not terrible. And you would probably use the same lenses to do this kind of shooting too, save for the ones that will only fit the 80D (24mm F2.8 comes to mind). Again, for the money you will save, you can have more lenses for this purpose. If you are shooting sports indoors the 6D is probably the better bet, but I have used the 80D with the 70-200mm F2.8 on it for indoor sports and did quite well.4. Are you getting paid to take photos? – If you are not a professional or at least a very enthusiastic hobbyist, then the commitment to full frame is probably too much money for not a lot better quality. Again, it is the lens that determines the IQ so much more so than the body, which is why lenses like the 70-200mm F2.8L are so popular amongst pros and enthusiast alike. The fact that it can fit on a 15 year old rebel is a very valid concept; you can slowly improve your lens selection and push your current body as far as you can, then once you have a few awesome EF lenses you can go for that full frame camera, so the hit to the wallet isn’t so hard and you can keep improving your craft in the meantime. What is your current camera and lens setup? Do you have some upgrade lenses? Are you still suing the same kit lenses that came with the camera? What are you looking to do? All these things are a factor, and if you can list that info I can help you make a more informed decision.
