Answer:	Soap requires better technique to use and typically does not give you the coverage that cream does... i HIGHLY recommend the taylor shaving cream. It is by far the best product ive used. I shave my face with a straight razor and my head with a double edged 1954 gillette safety razor. A dime sized amount of this cream on the brush will allow me to make 3-4 passes on both. It ends up being much cheaper than the canned shaving gel junk. BUY IT ! P.s. kimberly is my wife... lol. Shave on brother !

Answer:	The main advantage of a shave soap over a gel is moisturizing. A shave soap moisturizes your beard hairs making them swell and easier to cut, with less irritation. Answer:	Its around the width of a red solo cup. So it will fit circular soaps. What I do is keep my soap in a box but I use a spoon to scrape off some soap and I but in the bowl and then I mix with the brush.

Answer:	I assume your meaning is: width/diameter being the same ......2 and 3/4 inches. The height in just under two inches. It comfortably holds a round cake of shaving soap ( I use Williams shaving soap 1.75 ozs) without a rattle or movement in the cup while making lather with a shaving brush. It is a good fit in the palm of my hand.

Answer:	No, it's not a dumb question, and it's easy. You don't heat the bowl, don't put hot water in it and don't melt the cake/puck in your hand. Just drop the new cake into the bowl. To shave, rinse the brush in hot water and shake out excess. Then brush the top of the cake 8-10 times in a circle which gives lather on a hot brush. Then brush on the later and shave. The hot brush makes hot lather. Rinse out the brush and let dry until the next day. Don't worry about the lather left on the cake, it will dry and become part of the cake again.

Answer:	Yes, it does hold the heat very well if you fill it with HOT water and let your brush soak for awhile. It seems obvious to me that this cup in NOT designed for cake soap...that would require a larger "mug". This cup works best with tube type shaving soap. I use Proraso. Answer:	The company itself is based out of Pinellas County Florida I believe (at least the phone number on their website is a local one) but this bowl itself is made 'for them' out of China - probably for cost reasons. It's a quality build, though small. I grate my pucks and use this as a soap container as it is really too small for lathering as I am a head AND face shaver and require more soap per lather... hope that helps.

Answer:	It is stainless steel - so if you put in hot water before you started the lather, the bowl could in theory, warm the lather. It isn't insulated. Only something insulated would truly keep something warm. Even my coffee mug doesn't keep my coffee warm for a long time, but long enough - so if you warmed it up the shaving bowl with hot water first and poured it out, I think it would likely serve to help warm the lather and keep it that way until you used it. I like the bowl for helping to get a LOT of lather. After a few YouTube tutorials on how to get thick and full lather this has become my favorite shaving soap bowl so far. Hope that helps.

Answer:	This is for whipping the soap into a iather. Microwave the soap puck 20 seconds in a ceramic mug (I use a coffee mug). This is where you store the soap. After soap drys and sets up you Sprinkle some water drops (Blooming) in the mug. Let stand a few minutes. Wet your brush and load it with the soap. Take the loaded brush and whip it up in the bowl. With a lather bowl, you load up your brush with soap from your puck, and then whip up the lather in this bowl. There are plenty of tutorial videos on YouTube to demonstrate this

Answer:	I don't think it's hard to grip at all. My water is probably normal softness, and when shaving the bowl gets all soapy, and no problem. It's not polished like you normally see in marble, the surface is a little rough, and has a well-defined texture. It's also pretty hard so I don't think it'll break easily but haven't tested that. I bought mine because it's deeper than most others, so there's less of a mess outside the bowl. Aside from a little discoloration at the bottom where water seeped into the marble, which is only cosmetic, I'm pretty happy with mine. If I broke mine I'd replace it with the same thing.

Answer:	not really, this is a lather bowl, not really a soap dish. You want this to build lather off of your soap. Get a poraso soap and you can re-use the container.

Answer:	The stone gets smudges. The cloth helps it shine. Not sure if I even kept my cloth. Not a big deal. Nice shaving bowl though
Question:	Does using this bowl wear down or tatter the tips of the brush's hairs, bristles or fibers
Answer:	My husband uses a full synthetic brush with this bowl so far, and it seems to work fine. I couldn't speak for a badger hair brush though. The bowl does provide a nice lather, but it is very heavy.
