| Answer: | The number for my Kenmore Elite icemaker was not the same as this icemaker. But when I put the number in to search the internet for a replacement for mine, this one came up on the Amazon site. It looked exactly the same and was $88, no S&H, so I ordered it. I could always return if it did not work. But it was an exact match for my Kenmore and it is churning out more ice than we can use! The alternative was buying the Kenmore icemaker for this model at a price tag of $368. This was a great purchase and took less than minutes to install! |

| Answer: | There is a step that needs to be done after installing. Turning the power on and off is not the answer. The icemaker needs to be resynchronized with the refrigerator. If you hold the ice size button in for 10 seconds, the unit will go through a full cycle and will synchronize itself in the proper position. You can actually watch the ice ejector rotate and the ice detection arm will rise and fall, ending with the tray filling with water. After that, the icemaker is ready and will make ice as intended. If you skip this step, the icemaker may never operate until it is synchronized. |
