After reading your question I took another look at my stove top and realized the grates were put on incorrectly when installed. Take your left grate and put on the right side and your right grate and put it on the left. That should level the grates and solve the problem.

I prefer my ksm9hs because I can literally stand next to the speakers and sing without getting into feedback loop. Both are great microphones regardless of which ones you buy.
