Answer:	I have not weighed it, but it is fairly heavy actually - it is made out of heavy duty material and it has a sturdy hard bottom for each compartment that you can fold down. I would imagine most of that weight estimate comes from the changing pad, the wipes contained and the diaper disposal bags that are included - it makes it heavy on that end, but super convenient! I really love mine - it just stays in the back of my SUV to keep things organized, so it doesn't really matter to me how heavy it is.

Answer:	As in to sterilize? I've never used a steamer or steam bag, but I have boiled it as well as placed in the dishwasher and had no issues. There's 4 pieces altogether, (mouthpiece, screw on lid, silicone washer and cup), make sure you take it completely apart or mildew/mold can grow under the silicone washer. I found out about that and use the end of a plastic utensil to get the washer off. It's easy. But I assume that if you can boil it, you can steam it.
