Would you recommend playing the first game before playing

I will always recommend playing the first game. I have own it on both PC, and Xbox One, and it is a fantastic experience on both platforms. The game itself is an amazing experience with over 80 hours of gameplay. The choice, and consequence ensure a different experience each time you play. Keep in mind that you don't have to play the first one! The developers do a good job of getting you up to speed on the main story, BUT you can Import your Pillars 1 save. So you can continue your story with your Watcher. So while it isn't necessary, I highly recommend the first game as it is a perfect Love letter to the Infinity Engine games of the late 90s/early 2000s. It also plays surprisingly well with a controller. It's a bit of an adjustment at first, but i acclimated to it pretty quickly. So, no you don't need to, but the story is amazing so honestly...just do it. 😁

Answer:	Well as long as the save data exists it should, it's the same game with all DLC.

Answer:	I say it's better to get the royal edition instead of the normal version. Only because it includes a lot more stuff, as well as the dlc for prompto,ignis, and gladiolus. It even comes with extra items if I do recall right, it's a great game.
Question:	Is this an online, multiplayer game only, or can you play solo without being online
Answer:	I think there's a small multiplayer component, but it's purely optional, and the core game is a single-player, story driven affair.
