Answer:	The 10 year battery is part of the smoke detector. I don't know about the dual sensors.

Answer:	That also happened to the one I bought in January of this year (2013). Although there is supposed to be a way to permanently deactivate the thing (described on the back of the unit), I found ripping it apart with my hands to be much more satisfying, not to mention effective. A large hammer would probably work too. You may or may not want to hassle First Alert about it, or the seller, or Amazon, but then you'll have to hassle with receipts, return shipping, etc ...Next time get an alarm that has replaceable batteries, and change them annually.

Answer:	Hi! Yes, the Lilac is a light lilac purple color. For example, I am Italian, but I do have fair skin in winter and my lips are average/medium color for fair to medium skin. It definitely looks lilac purple on me. It looks very close to the image on the listing of the blonde wearing it, who has fair skin.

Answer:	I was just at the site. Instructions say NO to garages, and NO to detached structures.

Answer:	No idea as they do require batteries.
Question:	Is the mic removable
Answer:	The base that sticks to the wall doesn't really "stick". It has two hole stat you use to screw it to the wall or ceiling an then you take the 2nd piece with all the smoke detecting expertise and attach it to that. If you hire an electrician to do that work you will be paying a very luck person about 8 to 10 times what you paid for the unit. In other words, definitely do it yourself. Hope that helps
