Question: | can anyone confirm if they got their pin? Was it packaged separate or inside the monster hunter box |
Answer: | I received two pins (the included pin and the bonus pin) and both were inside of the monster hunter box. |
Question: | is the box any good for holding stuff |
Answer: | I'd compare the quality of the box to that of a cereal box. It's not cardboard, but its good enough that it'll hold everything in the Collector's Edition with no problem.I was pleased that it opens like the Item Box in the games. There's a magnet on the inside flap of the box that helps keep it closed. The box also includes a sort of divider that makes it look like the bottom of the box instead of just being a plain white inside. |
Question: | What was the price of the pack when was available last time |
Answer: | 59.99 |
Question: | Why is this not available for pre-order on Amazon |
Answer: | Pre-orders on this began back in September 2014 |

Question: | Is this for the west? Is this real? Is there going to be a limited edition switch with this game |
Answer: | Knowing that it's coming out within a a few weeks probably not |
Question: | Would this be good for first timers to the series |
Answer: | I just wanted to pop in and add my 2 cents for anyone it might help. You can download the demo of the game from the Nintendo eShop if you're interested in giving it a try before investing the money. Being a first timer myself, I loaded up the demo.. and started running around, realized there was like a compass arrow leading me to something so I went off that way, 3 minutes later I'm in a fight for my life. I chose an archer class and idk what the deal was but either even at point blank I was missing.. or I was doing so badly I wasn't even loosing an arrow off the entire time I managed to survive. Which was about 45 seconds tops.. and only because I was jumping and running around like I was having the worst acid trip of my life of something. But yea, basically after that, I felt so discouraged by how confusing the mechanics and controls were I just gave up and deleted the demo and moved on to other games. I needs a tutorial very badly. |
Question: | How many available seats are in the Jet Wyvern |
Answer: | 4, same as the mammoth if you place a big enough saddle on it. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this ok for an 11 year old |
Answer: | I'd say that highly depends on the 11 year old. I played games like this since I was 5 or so but was only allowed because I understood it was entirely fictional. If your 11 year old knows has played rated M games before and knows that everything in the game is just a game then I say why not. Also, i'd recommend looking up a few gameplay videos yourself to be sure that you're comfortable with your kid playing. To be on the safe side. |
Question: | Is this the misprinted edition |
Answer: | You mean the wrong spelling, according to pic no |
Question: | are the cutscenes voiced or is on screen text |
Answer: | They are voiced.. Hahaa in typical Resident Evil Fashion, Why has Resident Evil always had a problem with bad voice acting? I dont know, ahh the memories |
Question: | Other than choosing weapons I presume, does this game require much use of the stylus? Like as in, actual gameplay |
Answer: | I highly recommend purchasing the Circle Pad Pro peripheral to play this game. It makes the game 10x more enjoyable. Without the CPP you may need to use the stylus to aim, depending on how you set up the controls. You can buy the Japanese version of the CPP on Amazon for about $18-$20 and it works perfectly on the US 3DS. One of my favorite games for the 3DS. Enjoy it. |

Question: | Is there multiplayer |
Answer: | There is multiplayer battles like you can find in Pokemon, there is no co-op. |
Question: | So far, retailers in other countries (Including Spanish Amazon) have offered a pre-order bonus code for this game. Will the US version come with one |
Answer: | When I pre-ordered the game the order page DID have a pre-order bonus listed in the description. The 'Rider Set' was to have four dlc monsters as a pre-order bonus; HOWEVER, when I last spoke with an Amazon representative they stated there was no pre-order bonus eligible for this game. I have pdfs of the original pre-order pages from Amazon's official sale page for 'Monster Hunter Stories' and am having a relevant Amazon Customer Service representative contact me about the pre-order eligibility. So honestly, I cannot say for sure if Amazon America customers are actually getting their pre-order bonuses or not. |
Question: | Will the monster hunter amiibo work for the US version of this game |
Answer: | Yes, it DOES work in the U.S. It gives you a Rathalos egg that you can use in the game provided you've reached the level to use him. |
Question: | Has anyone received the 'rider set' pre-order code for this title (monster hunter stories) yet |
Answer: | For those still seeking answers, Capcom ALWAYS handles Monster Hunter DLC the same way: it is a free, non exclusive download in game once you connect online. Whenever new missions or armor set items are released, they will also be free for download. Speak with 'Connecticat' in any town and then accept the quest as a DLC quest, and you should get the Rider Armor as either a quest reward or as a gift (I can't remember some 100+ hours in the game). The important thing to consider is that I received the armor without pre-ordering the game. Spoiler alert though, it isn't that good and you will outclass it soon. Don't trust Twitter. The only exclusive content is the special rider monster variants you get from importing the Amiibo figures, and the Barioth variant. I can confirm that those work for US versions of the game on a US 3ds for anyone wanting to import these awesome figures. |

Question: | is this a hard copy? or am I buying a digital version? if it is a hard copy will it be at my door on release day |
Answer: | This is a pre-order for the hard copy of the game. As of 6/2, if you look at the pre-order for Kirby, there is a digital option available before release. However, Amazon does not offer the pre-order discount for the digital version of Kirby. The same will likely hold true for MH:G. |
Question: | Do we get a free theme if pre order here. Or is it limited to gamestop |
Answer: | No idea, but if you're a Prime customer you'll save $8.00 by buying the game on Amazon. It's only $32.00 vs. $39.99 everywhere else, I'm assuming at Gamestop too. You can save yourself a trip by having it delivered on the release date, and use the $8.00 to buy something else or a theme. |
Question: | is this for the new 3DS only |
Answer: | First off, no, this is for any 3DS system. As for system performance, there have been comparisons done. 3DS XL vs New 3DS there is virtually no noticeable difference. For instance, textures, shadows, etc. are virtually the same. FPS on both systems is locked to 30 and very rarely drops below on both. Likewise with the other 3DS systems, the difference is small. It is up to you if you want to upgrade to a New 3DS for this game, but the difference is minimal at best. |
Question: | I am new to mh series so curious how generation will be much different than mu4. its different game but looking at pics they look similar enough me |
Answer: | So this going to be long, but will point out the main differences. MH is one of my favorite series. I speak Japanese and play them in it. I have sunk hundreds and hundreds of hours into the games, including MH4U and this game so able to compare. These actually have you going back to the 3 base villages from MHF/MHF2 and the never-localized MH Portable 3rd (All PSP games), as well as a new village. Handful of maps from those previous games are in (and upgraded) and some new ones are added as well. This is why it is called Generations. So if you haven't touched any of the PSP games (and even if you've played MH4) these maps will feel different. (However there are some maps that are also in MH3U, but this is because when they made MH3U, they padded it with maps from MHP3rd. It was kind a mix between MH Tri and MHP3rd, giving both a, "G" or "Ultimate" update)Many new gameplay mechanics have been added and they have tweaked some old ones. Some weapons types themselves have been tweaked. But the biggest change is the addition of "Styles" and "Hunting Skills." Styles change how you play. They have something(s) that make them special as well as changing weapon combos. There are 4 types; Bushido / Aerial / Striker / Guild. Guild is classic. For those who want to play pretty much like the previous MH games. With Bushido, if you block(if you have a shield/heavy sword) or dodge right before you would take damage, you can dodge out of the way, take no damage, and instantly counter. Aerial lets you jump off of monsters and perform air attacks. Doing enough air attacks will let you ride the monster and get an easy down.Striker has simple controls. Biggest advantage is you get to equip 3 hunting skills and the gauges charge faster (Guild: 2 skills, Aerial & Bushido: 1 skill)Hunting Skills are specials you can set. Each weapon type has exclusive skills. Gain more as you play. There are also non-exclusive ones as well. As you fight, your gauge fills, once full, you can use your skill. Some are attack related, some are healing, and some are buff related. In this game you can play as your companion cats, called Palicos. They can be played through the whole single-player campaign (though will be hard), as well as online with people. They also have exclusive quests. They are good at support. Upgrading armor/weapons have been tweaked a little but nothing to praise or criticize. Food has changed a bit, though usually does with each game, same with Meownster Hunters/Farm. What monsters are in the game will of course slightly differ from the last. They add a handful of new ones, add previous games' title monsters, then select what other old ones will show. The list isn't drastically different from MH4U. Graphics don't look much different from MH4. The only real downside is that there is no G rank. Often Japan makes a MH game, then later comes out with a G version. (They made MH4 then MH4G. MH4G is what was localized into MH4U) It adds new monsters, new weapons, harder quests, and more. Non-G versions usually go up to Rank 6 in village quests and Rank 7 in online quests. G adds Rank up to Rank 10 in village and 3 more ranks (so 10) in online with G rank 1, 2 and 3. G rank much harder than rest of the game and has G ranked weapons/Armor.English versions have usually waited until a G-version was released in Japan, but Japan said they will not be making a G version for MHX (Generations) so that is why it is being localized now.So If you wanted to wait till price went down (or play until release,) you can snag MH4U. That one had made major upgrades to the MH formula. Especially with the addition of jump attacks/riding monsters. If you really wanted to, could go to MH3U first. Not bad by any means, I just really enjoyed new mechanics in MH4U.The new mechanics in MHG are great. Really love the addition of styles/hunting skills. Though it is not as hard to go back to MH4U. |
